wonder if they will release special discs to gamefly and similar companies

Or, they just stop caring which could really hurt because if all those companies pull their discs, then it could really hurt sales. I gotta imagine their is going to have to be an activation code on all Xbox games going forward in order for them to charge a fee?

If I had to make the decision today? I might just do that. If they are both gonna be like 500$, I dont see myself spending $1k for both. And since the PS3 is just fine for my Amazon and Netflix and the PS4 can actually make a good solid gaming for me without bluetoothy headsets and an interface as easy as Xbox?

It was funny to see how quickly they glanced over the "cloud" based record and share features of the Xbox, something that the PS4 has put front and center with their share button. And I was confused as to how to operate the tv, do I have ot use my phone? I don't want to use voice and gesture commands, I have a fucking sleeping baby in my arms **** holes.

PS is doing it to but I'm really getting sick and tired of them thinking that interactivity with games means that you have to use your arms and voice or be scanned by a camera. NO **** heads make a fucking game whose story is enough to immerse you in it's universe and we won't care how we interact with it.

So you want to throw a sheet over it every time you aren't using it? Or are you ok with a camera on in your living room at all times you have the Xbox on? And what about the sound? I want nothign to do with Micorsoft having a camera in my home at all times. Because that is when they expect you to be using this machine, music, movies, tv, gaming , internet... how much of the time are you home that you aren't doing one of those things.

As expected, not backward compatible, much like the PS4 isn't as well I believe.

From my very limited understanding has to do with the hardware architecture

On PS4 yes... on Xbox, I have no idea. Unless it's a 32bit to a 64 bit I don't know why. They have the windows kernel build into the Xbox one, I don't understand why their isn't backward capability in this.

I think it has to be 64 bit because of the amount of memory in it, if I remember correctly 2Gb is the limit on 32 bit processors due to running out of addresses. Fellow geeks can you verify?

That sounds right, but I'm not geeky enough to understand why that cant' be backward simulated at least? If you have more than double of all resources you had for the previous gen, why can't you run the previous gen? I guess that on PS4 they are completely changing the architecture so it won't work, but I thought for Xbox they were just boosting stuff? It would be like going from one window's version to another? But I don't know.

I will say I dont want my Xbox to become what I use my PS3 for and I didnt expect that the PS4 may become what I want my Xbox for.

Which it seems is the way it may go.

Do I once again become Microsoft and Windows-less?! Perhaps... WHOO HOO!

I just use the PS3 as a blu-ray player, my Xbox handles everything else. With the Xbox one (seriously it is a stupid name since it is the 3rd Xbox) I wont even need my PS3 and I can throw that POS into the street and be done with it forever, **** that thing. After dealing with its bullshit using it for NHL I have come to hate my PS3.

The new Xbox looks like they went back 30 years and gutted an old vhs player and inserted modern day equipment. Not that looks in the end are really all that important.
