I am one of those that manages to scratch almost every game that I have had. I think I had bought 3 copies of NHL10, 2 of NHL11 and 12, BUT only one of NHL13, but only because I didnt really play it much.

And I have no idea why. I am careful, I dont toss them around, I put them away, who knows.

I think I will wait for you good people/gamers to tell me I have to play Xcom before I actually do. The footage I have seen looks like it will not be my kinda game (which has nothing to do if it is good or not).

Well... if you are waiting to play XCOM Enemy Unknown... Don't. Play it. And if you are PSN + it's free right now. As for Declassified. I'm going to wait that out till I see more gameplay footage, what I saw was decent but nothing explained.

Yeah Enemy Unknown was awesome, posted about that after it came out. I'm not even that huge a fan of that genre of game either and I loved it. Can't possibly go wrong if it's free.

On a completely side note, my 7 year old nephew was over several weeks ago and asked if I had a video game he could play. The last system I bought and still own is the Dreamcast and I have systems as far back as the Magnavox 3 game pong. For yucks and grins I decided to pull out the old Atari 2600. He was all "this game sucks and this game sucks", but he recognized Asteroids as familiar to what he plays on his iPad but uglier.

Anyway, he actually started playing Asteroids and I was encouraging him to roll the score. He though it was not possible since he was failing at it, so I took a whirl. After 5 or 6 attempts I did and he thought it was cool to see the score reset. He has been over most nights (lives a block away from me) giving it a try. Tonight he finally did it. Man, the excitement he had reminded me the first time I did it as well. The best part he loved the challenge and accepted that there were no cheat codes to do it. Just determination. Now he wants to play another and try to roll the score on that. Too funny.

Very cool Biscuit. I remember that game well. Actually, I wouldn't mind playing again sometime. Flashbacks.

So I haven't done much gaming lately... and I've been wondering if there's any recommendations for a fun co-op game for 2 people in the same room. I have a PS3... not necessarily looking for FPS, but curious to see if there's something I haven't thought of.

You can pick up some of the old call of duty games. I know several of them have co-op missions. Pretty sure Ratchet and Clank all for one can be played co-op on the same console but not 100% sure.

Yeah, if it's for you and the girl, it depends on what she's into. Ratchet and clank is fun but the button system to certain people can feel very convoluted at first until you get comfortable with the control. Don't know about call of duty, and love borderlands but haven't played multiplayer. People seem to love it more actually. For me. if it's for you and the girl, or anyone really. you can pick up a month of Playstation Plus for like 5 bucks and download Little Big Planet Racing. My buddy and i play it coop across the network which can suck becuase you get to hear a bunch of 12 year olds, but it's actually a mario cart like game with a whole bunch of extras added on. Some very imaginative courses and courses created by the community for ever lasting fun. I liked it. Plus, it's 5 bucks if you get a PS+ membership and if she doesn't like it no harm no foul, or if she does and you are into it for a while and then stop playing within the month, again no harm no foul. And then you can also download XCOM, Uncharted, Dues Ex, Saints Row 3, and give them all a whirl and see how you like them. One of XCOM and Uncharted you're bound to like.

Speaking of, I just started Uncharted 3 and I was curious, to those who have played the previous 2, has it all been the same long storyline with the right and him being sir francis drake's relative? I ask not because it matters, but the game seems like it's a standalone story but they keep alluding to how long he's been obsessed with the ring and such and I was just curious. I like the game so far. I like that it's different and you have a team with you even though they don't do much. I don't like that it's script is like a bad action movie where they constantly have chances to kill each other and somehow no one dies.

Yeah, I cant speak to well for co-op games with the same machine or what good split screen there may be out there. To me, split screen play just isnt an option for me, bothers me too much.

I cant speak to Uncharted 3, never played, but my buddy enjoyed it. Consider it... your Last of Us warmup :)

Lego games i think would be fun that way. I play those with a kid of my buddy. Maybe some racers?

ROCK BAND! I mean, who doesnt like Rock Band?!

Thanks for reminding me about the Little Big Planet racing game, Mass - forgot about that one. And I still have a PS+ membership - I'll take a look when I get my internet back (just moved and the guy is coming today).

And yeah, I was definitely thinking about the Lego games. I've never actually played Rockband/Guitar Hero with anyone. It's fun for a little bit and then I realize that ACTUALLY pulling a guitar out and learning/playing some of those songs is a little more fun for me.

I used to love having Rock Band parties. They were a blast, but at some point along the way it got old. I still pull it out from time to time, but almost entirely just to sing. I enjoy singing along to the songs. I rarely pull out the drums or guitar anymore. In fact, I would gather it's been well over a year since I last pulled out either of those.

I'm thinking that may be an idea... she really likes Left 4 Dead and it may be close-enough to check out. Is this only for Borderlands 2 or does the first have it as well?
