My only real problem is that there is no real fucking reason why the NHL franchise cannot be on a PC. In fact, had it been on my HTPC, the data would have been backed up (RAID5 array FTMFW)

Hell, they could just run the thing through Steam or Origin and be done with it...but NOOOOO the eunuchs have to only release it on console.

The PC sales were pathetic. It made no sense to keep releasing it on PC, anyway when the consoles went to the next gen of hockey the PC verision didn't.

I remember that was a big to do. Because on EA's NHL 07 PC page it only showed screen shots and video from the xbox version. Which is pretty shady marketing, those screen shots had no business on the PC page.

It isnt YOUR fault? And here I have been blaming you! I wish you would have mentioned sooner...

Try Sega Genesis and the original Nintendo. They are rock solid. Last I seen my Genesis still worked which was about 10 years ago I gave it away in perfectly good working condition and I had the original model.

I still have my Genesis hooked up to my basement TV (along with my Magnavox pong, 2600, NES, SNES, SEGA GM, Dreamcast, PS, PS2 and Jaguar). My younger nieces and nephews love playing the older systems...but then again they have been raised on iPad games.

Feature additions huh? You mean stuff I didn't use like 3D blu-ray. And if they were "features" why was the update mandatory?

No, I mean additional features. Like Online backup and fixing the XBL to group the services better. No update is mandatory. You just don't update it.They don't force you to update unless you have the auto update feature on which again was another nice feature they added. What have they added that you wouldn't want to update to? I don't know where the mandatory came in, but why wouldn't you want to update your software if it's making things better?

The message the PS3 always gave me is that the update was necessary.

XBL updates their software twice a year. Apps might get updated more often but you aren't prompted for them until you use them.

I've never been prompted that I can remember. Actually the only reason I know to update is because I look for them.

Apps yeah, those prompt when you open them. But if you don't use them they don't prompt. Firmware updates I don't remember getting a prompt that I had to update or I couldn't continue.

I guess I never paid much attention if you DIDNT install them. I have never had one take more than 5 - 10 minutes, so I just always installed.

PS4 just lost some huge points from me. It will not support mp3s or any type of media server.

I JUST saw this and I am surprised to be honest. But even today you have to be DLNA-compliant for me to allow media from my PC with the PS3.

Since PS4 will have to allow DLNA, since it was ESTABLISHED by Sony, it will be possible, as it is now. But this is not without some geek stuffs to do. *NOTE* Just read ps4 may NOT offer support to DLNA devices/format.

Maybe because of all the patent law around mp3? No idea.

It isnt a game changer for me since I am going all Apple crap before end of year, but I can see where for some this is a huge deal.

I was happy they were allowing you to finally play music during games but then I found out it's only through their own music service, which you have to pay for. There's no reason they couldn't easily support mp3 playback.

None at all. At least not TECHNICAL ones. Hard to say on the non-tech side.
