Could it potentially point the finger (you choose which one) more so at the coaching staff instead of the players?

it can. unit 2 was on the coaching for sure. using krueger in combo with bruno eliminated any chance on that unit.

you are looking to cherry pick situations to make a case for Kane being good. Did the PP suck? yep. Did a lot of that fall on Kane in unit 1? yep. Size in the PP played a major role this year with Kane on the PP, teams changed their ways on the PK when he was out there. Teams used to give him open ice and he was deadly, now they chance it by throwing pressure with 2 players and he would turn the puck over time and time again.

I don't think PK'ng changes much...only the amount of pressure on the points has. Well, unless you want to score on it more than attempting to prevent the goal (the idiotic system we saw most this season).

Unit 2 also had Monty screening (mostly). It was shocking how much success it had at first. Ugh.

Alot of unwarranted stuff tossed at Kruger. Kid just played his first full season in North America.

Don't forget how well that backdoor play worked this year!

Aside from the net presence, which is a good idea too, I wish they'd start planting Kane or Sharp near the slot with their sticks on the ice and have them ready to snap wristers at the net at any time. Sometimes they'd get the puck down low to Toews in the corner, the entire defense would crash, then the slot would be wide open for someone to fire at the net. But there was never anyone there, all the Hawks players were scattered around the boards.

So tape to tape set ups have potential to mean absolutely nothing number wise?

Who knew?

No, I was reffering to were these expectations of Kane scoring 30+ goals are coming from. Sure he could do that, but he is usually dishing the pucks for assists rather than shooting and scoring goals

I'd be fine with 25 goals and 45 helpers each year for about the next decade.

I'll rephrase that. He should break 100 in his career. He's got the talent and he's got the talent around him.
I agree he should be, ton of talent around him he should hit that mark..I guess that why it's called potential.
