Nobody will ever top the great one, I was old enough to watch those great oilers teams. If he would have stayed may have been the best dynasty ever. I saw them play year after he left and the oilers were still amazing.

Damn I hated those Oil teams. The Hawks would check well against Gretzky, but then Anderson would kill them.

Jake Dowell supposedly had an issue with Kane's work ethic. (few yrs ago)

I'm starting to see the truth to it.

oh good...atleast a key member of the organization came out and challenged kane.

And as far as I have heard, Kane is supposed to have a good work ethic, except that he spends the first half of the off-season partying while others are resting...

Patrick Kane
Kane's actions in Madison, Wis. did not warrant any police action. Kane's behavior earlier this month has resulted in silence from the Blackhawks' camp, but team officials could be a little peeved over how their star center's name keeps popping up for some off-ice issue or another. Haugh offers his take on the Kaner situation:
Chicago Blackhawks: Trading Patrick Kane would be irresponsible - chicagotribune.com

Nice to see a journalist actually do some reporting and reach out to some of the sources that were around Kane that weekend. Don't think we'll ever get the full details of what actually went down that weekend, but there's a few new POVs in that column.
Seems confirm what I said yesterday about going to his parents home for a visit.

Yeah I was gonna ask if you'd heard anything more about it. Haugh says that Bowman is out of town but didn't mention anything about where McDonough is. Did say that Kane is back in Buffalo, now.

The pics of him in the bar I told my wife when I saw that no way he is blacked out they would have booted his azz out long before that. Iam a big Kane fan I want this to be true more than deadspin, deadspin needs more readers than the trib. So Iam going with this.

I have seen nothing more on it, just from my expiernces at Wiu when people Are drunk stories get to be a little better then what actually happen. Still Kane got to dial it down.

Best portion of the article:

But the rush to want the Hawks to trade Kane as a result of his latest tomfoolery baffles me. We have spent the spring celebrating the Bears' acquisition of Brandon Marshall, who has been arrested six times , but Kane's buffoonery suddenly offends our sporting sensibilities?

Using the same rationale the Rangers used in standing by troubled slugger Josh Hamilton, the Hawks can justify supporting Kane through any struggles because he possesses high-end ability. Say what you will about Kane falling short of his potential — valid criticism of a player too inconsistent on and off the ice — but he was the Hawks' best player down the stretch. He remains a rare playmaker who likely won't ever be the goal-scorer many envisioned.

Still, in the proper hands, under the right redirection, Kane can be a bigger part of the solution than the problem for an NHL team. The one in Chicago still makes the most sense for everybody.

Serious question...did anyone really envision Kane as a high end goal-scorer? I know I certainly didn't. I pretty much expected Kane would top out at 30 goals at best. The guy is a pure playmaker and always has been. Amazing vision and creativity that has the potential to be a 100 point player with only 30 goals because of this creativity. I just ask this because I keep reading articles over time saying that Kane's goal scoring is disappointing, he will never be what "we" thought he would be, etc.

Your very right his job and style of play is a playmaker. I agree, I think a lot of people points on here has been since his Stanley cup goal he has been missing in the playoffs.

I agree he can be a great playmaker but I do think he's got a lethal shot, both on the forehand and backhand.

Remember this?

Patrick Kane first career hat trick! Game 6 WCSF Canucks @ Hawks - YouTube

That's not the only goal he's scored like that.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hfz0QddsWc]patrick kane backhander snipe vs detroit - 2009 nhl playoffs - YouTube[/ame]

He can get to 30 or 40 goals if he'd shoot the damn puck more.

I'm NOT saying Kane NEEDS to hit, or that he NEEDS to win faceoffs. What I am saying is that if ALL he is is a nifty scorer, he isn't living up to his role. 23 goals doesn't count for jack shit. I can live with 23 goals from a dude who hits and wins battles in the corners and wins faceoffs. I can't live with it from a guy who does none of the above. So, in essence we're paying for a no-hitting, no faceoff winning, scoring machine who ain't scoring.

All those little things aren't a part of his game, so he needs to be piling up the numbers, which he isn't doing.

He's not a scorer tho. Kane is a puck handling playmaker
