You will never learn. Any one can cherry pick stats. Ovechkin, Nash, dumb. Dats only had one more point, o no!
I guess anything to hate on the guys wearing an Indian sweater.

Sure I'm disappointed in Kane, I don't want the Blackhawks to trade him just because he may be a douchebag. I want the Blackhawks to trade him if the return can fill 3 or more holes. He's an athlete, not a choir boy.

elite: the best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

Loui Ericsson, Jason Pominville, Scott Hartnell, Jerome "I use a walker when I'm not on the ice" Iginla, Joffery Lupol, and others would argue "the best" with you about Kane. And YES, I purposely picked players I wouldn't call "elite" who outplayed Kane AT LEAST this year if not the last two. No Stamkos, no Ovechkin, not even a ***** Kessler.

Does he have potential? Yep. What does that mean? Still hasn't done shit. Yes he is a damned good scorer when he does it, but if anybody here doesn't think this would have been a better team with Gaborik, Eberle, Tavares, or any of 15 other guys, you're blinded by the Indian.

Hossa outscored him AND Hossa HITS, he backchecks, he poke checks, he plays defense, he scores shorthanded, he's a gorilla with the puck, he is great on special teams, etc., etc., etc.

Now before I get bashed, I was one who said a Kane trade would benefit the team.

What do you consider by outplayed, just by points? Hartnell was very fortunate to be able to play on a line with Briere, Jagr, and Giroux. He should have been where he was at, we will see if he can keep up the pace. Lupul was finally healthy, and again he was fortunate to have a pure scorer Kessel on his line. The only true guys you listed who probably should have outplayed Kane are Iginla & Eriksson.

Sure Hossa does all that other stuff that Kane doesn't but Hossa is a 2-way player, Kane is more of an offensive minded.

I would not have wasted 7+ mil on a player who has a injury issue like Gaborik, that would also make the cap situation worse than what we have now. Sure Eberle and Tavares "could" have been better options. Those are 3 different drafts that have no outcome when it comes to Kane. Kane was drafted in '07, Eberle in '08, and tavares '09, so how you figure we get them over Kane is beyond me. I will point out Kyle Beach was drafted before Eberle :shot:

yahoo is now speculating the hawks silence on the fact that they may want to trade him and now make a spectacle out of this.

Fifth Feather was the blog I referenced once. Second City Hockey is a Hawks blog that I'd go to over damn near every single one of the Hawks' beat reporters. Failing to acknowledge that bloggers can be every bit as knowledgeable about a team/sport, in 2012, is ridiculous. The days of guys with press passes being the only "experts" on the sport are long, long gone.

For the love of God, stop talking about Kane not being able to hit. It's not part of his game. He's maybe 5'9, and possibly 170 at best. He's not going to run people over, and he'd be stupid to try. If this is part of your argument, please put your head through a TV.

I also saw Longhorn Bob mention his low faceoff numbers. He'd been playing the wing since the OHL days, and was forced into playing center due to injuries. His faceoff numbers have little impact on his "elite-ness." If he's the 2C all of next year and his numbers suck, then you have an argument. Not now.

For the big question ... I don't see Kane as an elite player after last season. Damn, damn good, yes. He was elite in the cup year and in 10-11. Not this past season. There was just something missing about his game. He could easily hop back to that next year, though. The talent is there.

Hawks have one elite player right now, and that's Toews. That's one more elite player than several NHL teams have, though, so I can't complain.

My biggest gripe on Kane? I wish he'd shoot the damn puck more. His wrister is deadly, in terms of both power and accuracy. I think he could be a 40-goal scorer if he got aggressive enough with his shot selection.
