RE:I disagree with anyone who thinks he should be demoted to the 4th line also and Bollig or Carcillo being scratched. Stalberg on the 4th line is useless as its not a line ment to be carrying the play up front..Stalbergs about possession and using his speed for that. I would rather have Bollig and Carcillo handle the 4 minutes of ice time.

TCD, I don't think Stalberg should be benched or demoted to the 4th line, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd rather have him on the 4th line and available for late in the game or OT, with fresh legs, then benched and unavailable.

He (or Saad) hasn't been benched....yet

But at times messages need to be made. Coaches don't have much "motivation"...other than ice time/benching

It's been said during the whole first series - heard it from Toews and Sharp after the last game, and Q was adamant during his press conference - and all were 100% correct...that they need to ramp it up a bit.

So looking at the forwards -

Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Bolland (now back)....all won the cup

Bickell, Shaw, Kruger (great PK series) and Frolik...all played pretty good roles/games went up a notch I thought.

Carcillo, Bollig...are what they are. Bring physicality and play 7-9min a game. Handzus is a vet and there's not much a "message" you're going to send him that he hasn't seen/been through.

That leaves 2 pieces that need to get better/bring more - Saad and Stalberg.

The Hawks don't rely on one player for "team speed". Their speed is in their puck movement and possession. Yes, he's the fastest guy on the team (and I'm in his Fan Club)....however, there needs to be more out of him than just being a fast player. The Hawks have won without Sharp, Bolland, Hossa...Toews for 25gms last year.....I'm pretty sure if sitting Stalberg for one game, they should be able to win. If the message sent to Viktor (or Saad) is "turn it up a notch or watch us go without you" - it's shit or get off the pot time.

Q has a very good pulse on this team.

In the regular season....Bickell and Shaw were 1/2 in hits. Stalberg (T-3) and Saad (T-4) were the next 2. In the playoffs so far...it goes -

Shaw, Bickell, Bollig, Handzus, Sharp, Frolik.....then Saad and Stalberg. It's not as if those 2 are expect to go rail people...but it's more about getting engaged in the play and wanting more of a compete for the puck

Don't worry about Saad..he was back on the first line at yesterday's practice.

Bolland was in at third line center yesterday, which I'm nervous about. I would like to see him play the 4th line, or not dress at all. I don't want to mess with 29-65-25 line...I like it.

One thing we don't have to worry about is Detroit being overly physical. Believe it or not, the Hawks are actually out hitting the Wangs in the playoffs: 24.2 hits/game vs. 23.

The Hawks just have to be strong on the dot...Detroit is a very good face off team. Hopefully we can "cheat" at it again, much like Yeo accused us of.

I don't know... drinking that early isn't as safe on my liver as drinking only at night. I'm going to go sue someone now.

Just buy some Liverite to show them support for being a sponsor of the playoffs.

In your case, 10am.

Consider it bittersweet revenge for your many games in Vancouver at 10pm over here.

To answer my own question: Q said "he had a maintenance day yesterday."

We need him on faceoffs...more than we need Stalberg on the wing.

I'm not sure what his problem is in the post season. He was 55.4% on faceoffs during the season (14th best in the NHL). However, he was only 41.8% against the Wild series.

Based on the sample size, I would think he would return to form....eventually. right?

Sorry But Ben Smith in the second line makes no sense unless Im missing something...Stalberg as inconsistent as he is been, still has speed that could burn the AARP WINGS...What the **** is going on?
