Glad you enjoyed it. Kind of on the short side, but pretty damn good. I hope they make a Titanfall 3.

Yeah it felt really really short lol.

I got used to the Titan and the weapons and switching, got that final gun, and then the game ended.

Problem is about 20 years ago they realized they could make a tiny campaign and a few multiplayer maps, sell DLC, and basically get the same 60$+DLC(10-40$) on less of a game than they built to have a 30-40 hour campaign with depth and story and well-designed levels.

Why do 100% of the work for 60$ when people will pay you to do about 20% of the work?

And you can never beat them by selling quality for more money, they always beat you with volume, in any industry.

Or they just buy you out....

"You're threatening to make quality and show us up? Here's 200M dollars, go buy yourself an island, we'll make your games properly shitty from now on."

Looking to waste a few dollars on steams winter sale on games i probably wont play much of, if i even play them.

Is cyberpunk worth playing these days? did they fix the shit? Is Fallout 76 finally worth a play after all the updates?

Any other games worth a look?

Playing CoD: Black Ops 2 (2012)

I find the graphics and general FPS gameplay still stand up.

Rest of the game feels like trash around an oddly decent enough story.

Cut scenes jump around too much and are too long, lots of dead space.

Mini games bridge the cut scenes to the missions but they feel stupid and arbitrary and consistently break immersion if you miss pushing a button and have to start over.

Its one thing if you die in a fight and need to try the mission section over, but it breaks immersion much more when you cannot complete the arbitrary rope climbing thing because you didn't hit the A button at the right time or click both mouse buttons together at the right time.

Firefights feel like Far Cry gave you just enough allies to make it feel fair if you do your part.

First few level designs were very small, very simple, required zero reasoning other than keep moving forward, following your allies and the objective markers, stopping only to engage in firefights where appropriate resistance is found.

Ima finish this game, but I keep wondering why these FPS games have so little FPS in them lol.

This game has been like 60% cut scenes, 25% mini games between cut scenes, and 15% FPS combat.

Would it be that hard to just make the levels slightly bigger with more enemies, more waves, etc?

I mean the whole thing is on rails already, just add more train cars full of bad guys, it costs very little and would raise the perceived value of the game.

The stories are all cookie cutter shit, fine but short and predictable.

That's fine, but I tune in for the fucking action, give more action lol.

I keep playing FPS games where they layer on all the other shit and you spend little time in an actual FPS.

Too many mediums spend too much time telling you how they're going to present the content to you rather than literally presenting the content to you.

I played Halo Reach, was fun.

Not sure why that ending isn't used more, or they don't do more Hold Ground objectives where they do something similar and then go into a cutscene.

Yes. If you like turn based strategy the Total War Games are solid too.

Seen that God of War was recently ported and released to PC. Ghost of Tsushima is rumored to hit PC soon too.

Anyone know anything about tlou2 getting a pc port too? Hopefully shadow of the colossus is on Sonys future port list too...

Def wont buy a ps4 just for shadow of the colossus and the last of us 2, but i def want to play tlou2.. i thought the first one was decent.

@Scoot26 @bearmick

Humankind is 25% off on Steam and they just released their first major DLC with additional African cultures, yesterday.

I bought just the base game 25% off after reading an intensely negative review where the player complained of how the game's core systems make it so War and Conquest can be beaten in the the long game by other things like Diplomacy or Economy.

It sounded to me like the player was pissed that the game was balanced, which IMO is a good sign lol.

@Ares

So I downloaded this last week, and I've been playing this the past several days (I took PTO Friday and basically played this all day).. Definitely a learning curve, like Civ. I was defeated by the AI via war in the first two games (as I focused on science and economic development and didn't raise much of an army). The third game is going well in that I made allies with the strongest AI on my continent and thus have been able to focus on science/economy while having a small army.

Given it's been like a decade since I've played Civ, I don't have the comparison thing really going on with it, other than I know the games are similar styles. So I don't have any real complaints at the moment, though they may come.

The gameplay is very enjoyable, but I keep having CTDs, most often during battles.

This game rewards you for playing the style of the culture you've got at a given time.

Neolithic, roam around, scout, gather food/population, and find the best spot to anchor.

After that, I go builder/expansion, Egypt and then Rome.

I found my first game, I was zooming thru cultural periods, so I restarted and set it to that maximum turns, and it still feels like the AI in the game races to the next culture level-up.

My strategy is to anchor in the best spot to bottleneck my opponents expansion, so I can build out and take territory at my leisure.

My game won't let me quit. When I quit to desktop the screen goes back, and while I can get to the rest of my computer just fine, the game won't actually ever quit, I have to crash it lol.

I was doing Babylon, Greeks, Franks. I've mixed and matched though usually start with Babylon.
