Use to have a 3 1080p monitor set up but got rid of two since i cut down on pornhub. However one 24" just isnt cutting it anymore and I want to upgrade to 1440 or 4k

Saw some budget 4k monitors on amazon and marketplace... might grab something.. basic 4k stuff at 60hz.. im good with that. I sit about 1.5 ft away when gaming... 2-2.5 when im reclining a tad and watching stuff.. is that far enough away for a 32" screen when gaming or should I be looking at 27/28"?

Anyone game on anything larger at close sitting distances? thoughts, if so? I have normal eye split... no sam cassell vision..

thought about a cheap 43" 4k TV too, but that may be a bit much from a foot away, but ya never know. desk could accommodate 43", its 6ft wide.

This is what I'm using right now, and I love it.

Less for gaming, more for productivity though. Color accuracy and ergonomics were important factors for me. Probably better choices out there for gaming.

i use a 49' Samsung Odyssey G9. Great for single player games with nice environments but it was kind of a disaster for FPS games, though it helps seeing enemies with your peripherals. Can sometimes be a pain getting the right visual settings for a new game. I like it more for non-gaming CPU use.

Picked up a 32". Its boarderline too big imo. Well, thats if if you have bad drunk posture and like to creep in close. That may just be a bad habit from gaming on a smaller screen though. rarely gamed on all 3 montiors when i had that set up. at 32" its okay if you sit back and watch shit, but still iffy at least for gaming. may just have to get use to it, then i wont be able to live without it. my desk depth is good enough to where i can easily sit back 2-2.5 feet and have my arms still lazy ass resting on the desk. could get more depth if i got rid of the hutch, but transformers bois

Now I might have to upgrade my gpu, but **** paying scalper prices. RTX 2060 at 4k is meh. Custom ultra settings on Red Dead 2 was like 30-35fps.. xbox 360 days shit. still playable though imo. 1440p was 60-65 with the same custom ultra. I guess it depends on the game and having to adjust settings at 4k. Tried an older game and was getting 60 fps at 4k ultra. Im not a snob though and can live with 1440p for some newer titles if I have to and 4k medium/high or whatever. Those days of just loading anything and selecting ultra and getting 60-100+ fps without heavily customizing graphics are gone.

Thought about picking up Dying Light 2 cause of the 500 hours to 100%. Then Im like, I still havent played the first one. Finally installed it and started the game. Just finished the prologue. Its okay so far. For 6-7 years old the graphics arent as bad as I thought they be.. Idk y I thought it would be arse looking, remember watching reviews years ago and it looked okay then.

I want to buy a GPU, but no way am I paying these current market prices. I'll just wait, however long that is. Right now I'm using a Ryzen 7 5700G and it does ok enough for what little I game on my PC. I'm all about laying on my couch in front of my 75" OLED on my PS5. I spend enough of my day in my office doing work (been putting in ~80 hrs / w the last month or so), I like to get out of there when it's time to relax a little.

yeah, i could sell my rtx 2060 for like 500-600 and get an rtx 3060 for like 600-700 for that 10-15% performance increase. I swear I got the 2060 for like 280 something, with a couple of free aaa games. It doesnt make sense for me to upgrade unless I go atleast 3070 ti and push towards that 100% mark. its like 88% better per synthetics.. but f paying a grand. i got my entry level ray tracing, so im good..

christ, 75".. i remember when we bought a 55" and I thought that was big.. 55" seems standard these days. we are due for an upgrade at some point

Lol. For real. I remember when I bought my first "big" TV. It was rear projection, maybe 50" and I think I paid over $3k for it. Crazy how good / cheap displays have gotten.

I remember no one wanting our rear projection TV during the rear projection end times. Put it on the curb, no randoms took it either. Bought that 55" 10 years ago, price was okay then, would be half that these days but would get bigger panel with better res and lighting. Our 55" is only 720 P and edge lit. its blacks arent the best. So an upgrade is due soon, but the wife usually watches trash on it and doesnt complain. so no rush. But would probably go 65", 75" seems at bit much in my head. However, i used a projector with my original xbox on an entire high vaulted wall when i was young.. great times.. master chief was atleast 4-5ft tall.. idk i forget, but that **** was huge.

Our 43" 1080p one the kids always use has a nice picture. Blacks are good, might be full array. I forget

I bought them on the Xbox 360 and never played them. Well played the first one 10-20 minutes then got distracted with something in life. My back log of games is disgusting.

Its very different for players who played ME1 and had their expectations set, then waited for ME2 and got their expectations raised, and then played ME3 and had their expectations raised even more throughout the game only to end up picking which colored cut scene we wanted to watch at the end lol.

I thought ME3 was brilliant and the ending, while a little lame, never bothered me at all, although I didn't play it until the extended ending was released. The gameplay was ME perfected and the campaign captured the feeling of fighting a losing war against an inevitable foe. You would have these little tactical victories and still watch the Reapers inexorably spread across the galaxy. It felt genuinely hopeless. So many people ruined it for themselves with performative sweaty gamer outrage, as if they were ever going to deliver 150,000 separate endings based on every choice you made during the trilogy.

Well I'm glad it never bothered you, must have been a nice experience.

Finished miles morales in two days. It’s crazy short. The villain sucks. But it gets woke points and that’s all that matters. Fighting controls are as cool as Spider-Man but story line was on a crazy level of meh
