I answered your question...I haven't given it much thought...I didn't even know who won the award. I haven't given much thought to a lot of things about the NBA...what the hell does that have to do with being an objective thinker?

I thought he could have received it any year between 1993-1994 and 1995-1996...any of those years...I wouldn't have complained if he did. I didn't give it much thought because I just didn't...wasn't that important to me...do I think he was robbed? Not really...just thought he could have gotten more recognition.

In my opinion, no. David Robinson played as many games as Pippen and was a better defensive player. I can give Pippen a little leeway over Hakeem because he played a few more games, but I'd still give it to Hakeem over Pippen.

Hakeem was one of the best defensive centers of all time. Him winning a DPOY award over Pippen isn't anything close to highway robbery. Could Pippen have rightfully won it? Sure. But you can't really make a case against Hakeem or the Admiral winning it.

ya, i was about to say, hakeem definitely should have been the DPOY...and if not him then probably david because they both were complete game changers down low with their shot blocking ability

pippen may be 3rd or 4th..i'm sure you can make an argument for him..but i still wouldnt put him ahead of robinson and olajuwon

in 1994-95, I'd say Mutombo, Mourning, Robinson, and Olajuwon all deserved it over Pippen most likely. But nobody else is really in the conversation.

Some people think being a fan is simply about bragging for your team. You don't measure fanhood by how obsessed you are. Or how biased you are. It's about how badly you want the team to win.

No one was "running" anyone down. Saying Hakeem, David Robinson, or Charles Barkley are better than Pippen isn't exactly "running" down anyone. It's a discussion of who is the better HOF'er or who deserved a DPOY award.

Lol you guys are incredible. In 95 pippen led the league in defensive rating, steals, was all nba defense 1st team, anchored the number 2 ranked defense, avg a block a game, was the leagues best perimeter defender as well as help defender.

And it was all pippen, the starters were;

Armstrong suspect defender
Myers solid defender
Pippen
Kukoc who was a terrible defender and couldn't speak english
Luc longley, who was labled a bust.

how that team stayed 3 games above 500, and had the number 2 defensive ranking is a testament to pippen. And he was robbed of the dpoy. Even more, he finished 7th.

But I'm a biased bulls fan. In a bulls forum no less.

Its like going into someones house and questioning the way they have their furniture set up.

Why did mutombo win dpoy? Cuz he's 7'2 and blocked shots? I defy any of you guys to make a better case for him (mutombo).

What? Dikembe Mutombo was a much better defensive player than Scottie Pippen. It's not even very close.

Anyone who thinks Pippen was a more dominant or impacting defensive player than Mutombo must be a biased fan.

Especially when they go down the 'oh, Mutombo was 7'2''' route to try to discredit him. How is that a knock AGAINST Mutombo's abilities???

Defending the rim is fundamentally more important than defending the perimeter.
