I just said that it was a consideration. Except for Alexi, all of those guys are young and Alexi is an all-star. All of the Cubans have done pretty well on this team. I am not saying not to trade them, but a smart team takes all things into consideration before going forward on a trade. What influence, for example, was Alexi in bringing in the other Cubans to this team? We do not know that answer do we? Getting Abreau when other offers were out there, some of which may have been better, was probably the best move the front office has ever done with a free agent. Right? That's all I am saying. I just do not believe that it is just a coincidence that we have a strong Cuban contingent on this team.

I agree...but trading Alexei does not mean we lose Abreu etc. Plus folks now will want to come because of Abreu

That is true but all-star caliber short-stops are very hard to find. I believe that they are almost as rare as good two way catchers.

I think that it has been that way for a long long time. They are the hardest two positions to play in baseball and usually the guys who are good defensively are weak offensively and vice versa. Alexi is an exception.
