I've seen the majority of Bulls games between 1991 and 1994.

I've seen nearly every game or listened to it on the radio between 1995 and 2011.

Don't tell me what I don't know.

I will talk about what I know about the Bulls and the league because it happens to be a LOT.

You not being able to see that the talent in the NBA is as good or better than it EVER has been shows your ignorance and bias.

Are you serious about talent in NBA nowadays?
Most of games are not interesting these days except 6 or 8 teams in the whole league. Players have physical talent but less creativity and hard working. They are receiving a lot of money not for basketball but for work they are doing. Most players are playing not 100% they able to on the court, no fire in most of the games.
In 80s or 90s teams played for themselves, for the fans, for fun, for the great game of basketball. Now players getting money, game is secondary, not the main.
So mentally nowadays league is poor in my opinion.

Money has ALWAYS been number one in professional sports or ANY job.

How naive are you, exactly??

Players have a lot more physical talent. Not just some.

Players still work hard. You need to work hard to get into the league.

A guy like Brian Scalabrine would have been on the all-star team back in the 1960's and probably would have won the MVP award in the 1950's.

Over time, population grows, and it becomes progressively harder and harder to make it all the way to the pro's.

You need to be an astounding talent to make it that far.

I'll agree that there were great, dominant centers in the 90s, but don't act like the talent level is far lesser today. Howard, Durant, Gasol, Griffin, etc. are all great talents and would definitely hold their own in the 90s. The playing style was a lot more physical in the 90s but for athletes like these guys, I don't see that being much of a problem. They aren't wimps at all.

I never said they were wimps, just much much more pampered and paid...
THAT IS A FACT.
The attitude toward the game back in the days was more personal, almost like war......

The best way to compare yeaturdays players to todays players is that yesturdays players are from the city.
Todays players are from the Suburbs.

Players from the city come to the suburbs and run shit.
Players from the suburbs come to the city and get lost.

Think about it.
Its a totally differant mentality btween 1990s NBA and the new school...
Same goes with music, movies and the whole world....Its like taking athletes from the 90s back to the dark ages where they would get smashed and killed...Same concept..

There's no doubt the game was played with much more physicality in the 90s. I wouldn't argue against that. Despite that, the talent level hasn't regressed at all. Just wanted to point out that today's players are just as good, if not better than they've been in the past.

That is simply not true about most NBA players coming from the suburbs. Most still come from the inner-city. And that is true despite the growth in suburbs over the last couple of decades.

And, while the highest paid players are more pampered, what you said is generally not true. Players are much more expendable in the NBA than they ever were. If you are off your game, you are either going to get cut (if you are a bench player) or not paid as much as you could be (if you don't work your ass off).

There's a lot of money at stake in today's game but that doesn't take away from how good the players are. If anything, it adds to that.

What is wrong with the NBA today is that too much of it is hyped up as player A vs. player B instead of Team A vs. Team B.

But you better believe that each team is motivated to win.

In the 90's, you would not be able to find many players 6'10+ with 22-25 ft shooting range. Today, you can find guys like that on every team just about. And that is with MORE teams in the league.

Centers were not nearly as mobile as they are today. They need to be able to be quick on their feet these days and longer because they simply don't benefit from the hand-checking 90's players used to.

PFs can shoot much better.

SFs almost all have three-point shooting range.

SGs need to have PG skills.

So much has improved and changed in the NBA from 20 years ago.

The NBA needs to focus on the team aspect more than the individual on the team. One man simply does not make a team. He may be a huge part of the team, but he can't win by himself. Jordan couldn't, Kobe couldn't and Lebron can't. That's obviously another debate for another day, but embracing the team mentality is what the NBA needs to do going forward.

What really sucks, is the way you seem to be getting upset and throwing personal attacks "ignorant", and"biased"????.....I got news for you,I'm not either of the 2.

You listened or watched games from 91 to 94???????? I mean for Godsake, you were like 2 or 3 years old in 1991 and only 6 in 1994 so you could not have had a full understanding to what you were witnessing other than fun and games, and Santa Clause...LoL...

That is of course unless you were like Doogy Howser or somthing......Jeeez.

Maybe you just saw it on utube......Your generation is a carbon copy that isn't as good as the origional.....I'm cool though, "ii ain't mad at ya, I'm just laughing at ya".......

Your youthfulness is showing for the way you are getting mad for not having everything your way.....You are not right about everything....Seem kinda spoiled like todays NBA players......LoL...Don't be mad, its just called sarcasm...

AM I ALLOWED?...after all I am a senior citizen..

Your taking my example all wrong son.
I dint actually mean players were from the suburbs or city literally...LoL

I meant that as a metaphor.

1990s NBA is the city.
2000s NBA is the suburbs.

I meant that as a way to compare...

You see what I mean by ignorant now? You know nothing about me yet you are telling me things that are simply not true at all.

Yet you say I am throwing personal insults at you. Those aren't personal insults. Those are observations.

You saying that I know less than you because of my age is not only ridiculous but it is a personal insult.

I've spent my entire life as a dedicated Bulls fan. Spending days and days of my free time learning and loving the game.

You're acting disrespectfully.

So much of these forums around the net have devolved into a pissing contest of "I know ore than you do" and the back and forth.

It seems like people can't sand to be wrong on things these days.

I agree. It takes a big person to admit they're wrong. I guess a lot of people think they know everything about sports and don't want to acknowledge that they may not know as much as someone else. :dunno:

Wow.

Dont mean know disrespect, but I feel the same about the little 1 liners you throw my way...

Didn't mean anything like that at all..

I am also a dedicated Bulls fan for many many more years, since 1982.

How many people you know are so dedicated they record most the games and actually re watch and study them???..

I have know doubt you are dedicated, but don't down me because my opinions differ from yours.

Just as much as you believe in your young heart the things you write here, are just the same with the way I feel about mine in my old heart..

I will disagree with anyone I dam well please.
I will call it how I see it and not any other way...My eyes are differant than yours.

Are we still cool Rami??

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings?

Awwwwww shucks.......now I feel bad......I guess I shouldn't joke around with you or state my real opinions if it upsets you that much.....Should I just lie and act like I agree with you..I will if it makes you feel better..

Okay, let me practice......
Here I go,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Pippens a scrub.
Okay.........The league is better now....
Derrick Rose is the best player since 1988 Jordan...

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I think I'm getting the hang of it now....gosh, what fun.

Google helps people like that. It gets annoying after a while. People can't have their opinions without someone coming in with their facts (read: opinions) trying to rain on other people's parades.

People really need to get over themselves.

Me saying Rose's season last year was better than any other season besides Jordan's 88 season is my opinion.

I don't have to qualify it. You don't have to agree with it either.

I agree 100%

If you read the last bunch of pages, you will see Rami looses his cool first because he thinks he knows everything........but its cool, I still like the guy.....Rami truely is a bright young man and I do respect him.......I just DISAGREE with his philosophys about 90s NBA and players....Back then, I lived and breathed NBA and Bulls basketball....Sex, money, friends and family were the only thing that came before the Bulls for me....As a matter of fact, I actually put the Bulls before all of that at time........I literally did not miss a game from 1988 to 1998......Not a story, FACT........And recording the games was like a job for me that I did for free......

Exactly. It's your opinion. No need to bash someone for differing opinions. Everyone's entitled to one on this board.

I was the first person to call out that 1988 Jordan thing.

And the Pippen thing was sarcasm you failed to comprehend.

I thought you misspoke.

If you honestly believe that then okay.
