Even though I love Melo, I was never a fan of that idea, and I still stand by that. I think a TEAM with Rose being the guy works better than the Rose and Melo show would've.

noah still is kinda putrid

deng is awesome

ok? good for him...

i really dont think melo would benefit the bulls at all at this point...he's more of a cancer...not really a team player....probably more of a net negative than positive......i dont understand the attention for him

I think the way Carmelo is playing is indefensible...but I also think comparing Deng to Melo is a bit much. Carmelo is better than ANY SF THAT CAN'T DRIBBLE...period. Deng cannot dribble a basketball on an NBA court.

And I find it hilarious that people want to look at one game with Noah and put him on a comeback trail. He has sucked since the beginning of the season.

I never thought they should do the deal, so I'm glad that they didn't.

It wouldn't have made us better last year, and it wouldn't make us better this year. His ability to score does not override the fact that he's an absolute cancer and the whole Denver situation shows he is not, nor will ever be a true leader.

I never thought they should of, but its surprising to me that a bunch of fans say they should've done the trade. Noah isn't that great and neither is Deng, but they aren't doing what they are doing without Rose with Carmelo, they are doing it with who they have. 2011-2012 champions is what they are playing like right now!

Noah, Deng and a low end first round pick? Or even Charlotte's pick would have been par for the course for a perennial all star caliber player.

Melo is an all league player and the best scorer, as far as dexterity goes, in the league in my opinion. Yes...I would trade them...no problem.

Asik is rebounding and defending better than Noah is right now. People on this board who would have had a problem with that trade seriously overrate Deng and Noah.

This man knows what he is talking about., don't forget that he can't defend either, and Coach Thibs wants to be great defensively

Carmelo is an elite scorer but brings nothing else to the table to truly push him from star to superstar. I was against the trade simply because Deng can have a positive affect on a game when his shot isn't going. While Carmelo at times won't.

It's not a coincidence that Denver played better when Carmelo left, they have better fluidity in their offense. Now looking at the last two big contributors left on the Knicks pre Melo trade, Fields and Stat, their field goal %, PPG, and shot attempts all dropped post Melo trade. Thats because the balance, fluidity, and chemistry the Knicks had were gone.

For Carmelo to be as elite as some on here believe him to be, he should be able to blend in his talent and ability, without taking away from others game. Right now, that's not happening.

Does he help a team? Were they not in the WCF in 2009? One of the reasons they were was because up until his injury, Melo was unstoppable.

He was the best player in the league during the playoffs that year. And he was 24 years old. I don't think all of a sudden he is this big cancerous presence wherever he goes.

ok great....he made one WCF..what about every other playoff series..didnt win jack

also helps alot when you have billups who knows how to win in those situations

how about this for thought...denver is 2nd in the west right now...and i believe posted a winning record after anthony was gone last year(18-7 i believe)

there is something to be said here...melo is overrated

When Melo was on the trade block, it was very enticing, but I am sure glad Deng is still a Bull and Melo is not...Deng=team basketball and Melo=self......
Melo may be the more talented scorer, but is for self.
Deng isn't as talented, but is good in every single catagory which is better for any team....And Deng works twice as hard as Melo.....In the end, Deng will have more rings and that's all that matters.........
Look at the Nuggets record and look at New Yorks record? Nuff said buddy boy....

I don't think his abilities as a player are overrated due to those circumstances. I think there are more mitigating factors involved. And yes, he made ONE WCF when he was 24. Billups, like everyone else, stood and watched Carmelo Anthony destroy the competition that postseason. Everyone knows how rough the west was, I don't think Anthony can be blamed for his team not being good enough. Billups was no savior.

Were there issues in Denver? Yes...does that mean Carmelo is overrated? No. It means he and his coach didn't get along, which was the case with more than one player on that team. But with that said, Melo's abilities are most definitely NOT overrated. Its one thing to say that Carmelo Anthony may not benefit the team, which I disagree with. But its another thing entirely to say he is not as skilled as advertised. That is absolutely false, and nobody can name 2 or 3 players more skilled at scoring the basketball.
