Carmelo is an elite scorer but brings nothing else to the table to truly push him from star to superstar. I was against the trade simply because Deng can have a positive affect on a game when his shot isn't going. While Carmelo at times won't.
It's not a coincidence that Denver played better when Carmelo left, they have better fluidity in their offense. Now looking at the last two big contributors left on the Knicks pre Melo trade, Fields and Stat, their field goal %, PPG, and shot attempts all dropped post Melo trade. Thats because the balance, fluidity, and chemistry the Knicks had were gone.
For Carmelo to be as elite as some on here believe him to be, he should be able to blend in his talent and ability, without taking away from others game. Right now, that's not happening.
