He's been playing RW for quite a while now, and even when he was playing C he wasn't great defensively. He did somewhat have a few "come alive' shifts last night, but after that he was as Pete already stated lazily floating around.

Dunno, he needs to pick up his play just in general not taking shifts off. At least we can say then the effort is there just bad luck. A lot lately he's not even giving the effort to make chances.

My opinion for what it's worth on what's plaguing Kane ---> too much booze and broads

He's lost focus on the ice due to off ice activities.

And you know this because you hang out with him?

He knows it because he's an idiot and has no clue what he's talking about. I wasn't going to type in here but it's so all over the place it's rediculous.

Kane has been asked to play three different positions this year. RW, LW and Center. About the only thing he hasn't been asked to do is play D and or Goal. No Q, I'm not giving you a suggestion.

Since he's been movee back to RW (minus the PP where Q still plays him out of position) he's had some pretty good games, only to be stoned by the goalie, or have his amazing set ups not be finished. All players go through a slump. Hell JT goes through one every year for about the first 15 games. No one questions that.

Leave the kid alone and let him play the game.

and Pounder, go watch golf.

Thanks for FINALLY joining the convo........

So, do you honestly believe that the 50% of the time he appears lazy or disinterested is simply frustration? That is not a loaded question. His play makes it seem like something else is going on in his head.

Pete, I think that's all you can say about Kane right now... it's a head game and nothing else. You can tell he's just gripping his stick too tightly out there and second guessing himself/thinking too much instead of shutting his brain off, pumping his legs and busting his ass.

I dunno I kinda doubt it, I think the coach would have sent a message if that were the case.

It's not like it doesn't make sense. But like I said in an earlier post, it seriously looks like he just lost a loved one or something.

Does he have a goldfish? Did it just die? Ya know what I mean?

It's easy for a fan to say "he's taking shifts off", or "he looks lazy", but is he really? I don't think so. I think he is going through a frustrating time ALL star players not named Gretzky go through. I know for a fact he leaves it out on the ice, but sometimes changes to your game, or certain things, like all of us, extend longer or harder than we'd like them too. A professional athlete is no different.

As of right now that's what it is. No doubt about it. Once the puck starts going his way, his numbers will tick right on. Hell even the other night as an example of whats going on. On the PP Toews was passing the puck to Kane for what would have been an easy tap in goal. Well, Enroth hit it with his skate instead and knocked the goal in. that wasn't a shot from Toews, it was a pass to Kane. Just like Niemi's not one but TWO crazy saves on him the other day. When the puck doesn't go your way, it doesn't go your way.

Another example, Detroit, Kane sets up Stalberg for the perfect pass goal on Howard, what happens, Stalberg missed the net. Next game Toews sets up Stalberg with the same exact pass, amost, what happens, Stalberg pots it in the net. Sometimes, through out an 82 game season, players have slumps. Even the best ones.

I said it was my opinion. I didn't realize I had to hang out with him to have one. Some examples of past indiscretions come to mind:

- i.e the strip poker in the Vancouver limo

- the photos of him being hammered and in bed w/women

He's rich, set for life financially, and very young. I'd be doing chicks and booze as well if I were him. But I do believe it can impact his game.

So this is an honest question and I assume I know the answer. But is going from RW to C and Back to RW all that different adjustment wise and mentally then the magical lines that Q applies as well? And I would assume the combination of the two doesn't help. I know there are different responsibilties and such. But I think to other sports (I know you can't compare really) and I think about going from like shortstop to second or like Running Back to Reciever or something. I don't know. I just trying to figure out why everyone is saying it's such a big deal for him to flow back and for when he has show that he has been dominate at one position. I can understand if he wasn't playing well at RW and went to C and sucked and went back. Or vise versa and whatnot, but he's an amazing RW and was for a time there the best Center on the team offensively.

Unless any of you can play the game out there better than Kaner, I would think you would STFU. WHATEVER is going on with his game, don't you think he is working on it? Don't think for a minute that the climate in the front office hasn't trickled down to the dressing room. It has been said by more than one former player that you walk on egg shells in there. That alone doesn't make for a good situation if you happen to be struggling with your game.

Again, I'd rather have Kane playing for me than against me any day.

I don't think anyone is saying he's not trying to fix the issue or we would want him traded to play against us. He should feel uncomfortable - feeling relazed when you're struggling doesn't solve anything. Did you hear the NBC analyst Wed night saying Kane was 'lollygagging' it out there and he showed some clips from the game. Maybe this will be the ass kicking he needs to get his game back. Everyone wants to see him fix the problem. I don't think ignoring it helps either though.

Cool. I think we all hope it is just that, a slump.

So next time you chat him up, give him a pat on the butt and tell him to keep fighting the good fight. That, and recommend Pat gets a relaxation massage from a cute girl (and no that is not a euphamism for sex). Those massages can be fucking money man! Makes you feel sooooooo chill.

He'll be just fine. Unless we trade him for Miller. <purple>

I remember a time when an analyst said he was lollygagging, or whatever term was used, and the analyst had no idea Kane was playing injured.

I would like to see anyone on here try to be the best at their jobs living in a fish bowl. (and yes I understand you know what your going into in professional sports, but how did any of you conduct yourselves at 21/22/23/24/25 years old? Were you the best in your field? )

Just because it works on NHL'12 doesn't mean you know what you're talking about in real life.

He'll get it together. He's a professional.
