The center position really screws with his head. He's a RW, plain and simple. Any attempt to make him perform elsewhere is just Q playing lineup yahtzee and thinking wishfully.

I see a lot of promise with Stahlberg, Toews, Kane. I hope that Q let's this group gel because they are already producing great results. Once Shooter gets healthy he should definitely be put on the 'second' line with Hoss and Kruger.

He hadn't played center in the last 8 games. He scored a point in 3 of those games.



Regardless, i hope he continues from last night and keeps working hard.

YOU (and every other fan) aren't paying him anything. The Wirtz's are. (when the rink was empty players still got their paychecks) That's who he answers to. If you don't like the way he's playing, don't buy a ticket. There will always be someone else to buy that seat. And nobody on that team gets coddled. LOL

You think if the place was empty every night Wirtz could still pay Kane? Of course not. The money that Wirtz has to spend on payroll is directly impacted by revenue he brings in. Bad attendance for a long while? Team payroll goes down. Great attendance and winning? Payroll goes up. Pretty simple economics. The players answer to the fans - without fans there is no league, no games, and no money for them to make. And every fan is entitled to their opinion. I don't believe a player is untouchable from criticism just because he makes $6M+.

- the photos of him being hammered and in bed w/women



He's rich, set for life financially, and very young. I'd be doing chicks and booze as well if I were him. But I do believe it can impact his game.

To be fair, you can't prove it ISN'T a problem. Nobody knows but Kaner, if he even knows.
