The only ones from that list worth bragging about are Sale. MAYBE De Aza, maybe Jones, maybe Quintana, maybe Veal. The rest of the guys on the list are average to below average.

I could also name a bunch of guys, McCarthy, Gio Gonzalez, etc., that were traded away and now flourishing.

Bottom line: 2 playoffs in 12 years... In the worst division in baseball. Yikes.

mccarthy? I suggest you research that trade

mccarthy since being traded: 101IP,22IP,97IP,170IP,111IP but he is flourishing

The guys in that list are pretty solid.

Oh stop that kind of talk. I don't agree with you, so my opinions aren't valid now? I'm sorry if 2 playoff appearences in 12 years is cool with you. If you presented evidence that I agreed with to why it is the manager's fault, instead of KW, I would change my opinion, but as I've stated, I feel that baseball managers don't impact their team nearly as much as the GM does, fellow White Sox fan!

I respect your opinions. I don't agree with them in this case, but I respect them. I place a majority of the blame on the GM, you place it on the former managers. It's no big deal :)

i was talking more to rory.

Looks like you need to give back that "Staff Member of the Year" award.

You say that Cashman sucks, he just outspends other GMs. I say Williams does the same thing in the AL Central, but only makes the playoffs 2 times in 12 years whereas the Yankees consistently win. You say I'm ignoring these alleged "variables". I ask what are these variables....

NO RESPONSE!

Again, what are these variables in 10 of the past 12 seasons? Can they even be called "variables" at this point? Wouldn't they be more like "known excuses" by now?

see the rest of the thread and most of 901s posts.

Hell, me and Rory never see things eye-to-eye, but he is right here. Too many rookies, no one that can hit, and yet KW will be applauded in the off-season for putting together a "contender."

Whoop-de-doo. 2 playoffs in 12 years speaks volumes. Pathetic.

The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to agree with Gunz. Ozzie was a Special person, but him and KW are both to blame equally.

A person or two around here thinks that I was/am all about ozzie, but that is just false. Ozzie is a firecracker, he exploded and served his time, but he was done and it should of happened. But KW gets a free pass and that isn't right. This is, and has been, his mess for a long time now.

which is actually more JRs fault for:

1) letting KW and Ozzie Coexist with their hatred

2) not firing ozzie a lot sooner

but more than likely ozzie will be fired in miami after 1 year of a 4 year deal....that speaks volumes of what he has turned into and what he was after the WS. you and now the opinion changing 901 can ignore that if you want, but its still there.

Really happy with this, hopefully can form a Theo/Jed tandem like the Cubs

See i can take the KW disagreements, but this type of shit is really fucking stupid. this type of opinion is indeed rare, but when it comes up i feel like punching fans that go with the "trends" of the "right way" of doing things at the current moment, which changes year to year.

Dews is also correct.

Now I don't know who to blame.

There is no "correct" answer. It sickens me to be a fan right now :(

With that said, Hahn will get 2 or 3 years to do what "he" wants, but in reality, it will still be KW pulling the strings..... So when we look at history, how pathetic is 2 playoffs in 15 years going to look? (especially in the worst division in baseball)

Honestly, it makes me sad, because I'm used to solid GMing from my Packers. So very, very bad :(

I semi-agree with you... Ozzie was kept too long because of loyalty. But, I think KW has been kept WAY too long..... Because of loyalty.

I think, like the players on the field, the brass, ownership, and managers/coaches are a team. And if they win, its a team effort, and if they lose its a team loss.

but its a chain reaction.

i do blame KW for not having the nuts to tell JR that ozzie isnt working out. when I watched that show where they followed the sox and saw the meeting with ozzie,kw,and jr and KW asked ozzie to pick a player: a bat, or an extra arm...ozzie chose an extra arm and that bat was thome that ended up biting us in the ass because we had a rotating DH per ozzball. KW is the boss, that should never been allowed, but he probably knew it would hang ozzie.

I see what you are saying, but the GM has more power then any of them... He is the reason that all of them are on the field or in the dugout. In baseball, more then any other sport, the players just play... Managers have the least amount of impact on the game, compared to all other team sports, which means the GMs have more resposibility then any other sport.

Once again I will repeat myself (and has yet to be desputed): in baseball, more then any of the other major sports, the GM matters MUCH more compared to the manager. It is how it is.

I honestly don't understand you... We both realize ozzie wore his welcome out and we both realize how flawed this 2012 Sox team is, rookies and veterans all involved.

I honestly believe we both see the same future for the Sox in the last 2 to 4 years...... But you still ride KW's jock strap. Why??? He is part of the problem, hell, I believe he is 80% of the problem, but it seems like you think he deserves no negativity. It makes no sense to me, because you can see everything else....

Look man, everyone's at fault. I don't know what you want from me. KW should have built teams with more depth, Ozzie shouldn't have been a Special person, and JR should have ended the rivalry when it got out of hand the first time.

I actually started to agree with you...and its still not good enough?

It is hard to understand your perspective when it isn't explained :)

I don't think the GM is 80% to blame. That is your perspective, that isn't mine.
