The offense is. I've heard all season long by others how high powered our offense is. How wrong they were. It is a over-rated offense.

Matchups just have to generally be really favorable. If guys have good curveballs working we're pretty much beat from the go. Also pitcher are hardcore capitalizing on our eagerness to swing for the fences. Have to learn to be more disciplined. This feast or famine nonsense is clearly not enough.

I kinda want the Indians to just win tomorrow to get it over with, but then they'd also be celebrating in Wrigley.

Whatever happens happens.

The Cubs are a young team and it is showing right now. Last night they were trying to yank everything out of the park. Way to many guys trying to be homerun heroes and ending up with all zeros.

the Indians are a far more mature team of hitters. I honestly have been telling people that I did not think the Cubs would win it all this year because they just don't have a veteran lineup. Players peek in baseball around 28. That Cleveland team is chalked full of guys between 27-30. The Cubs needed a little more seasoning. I am not surprised by this at all.

I really hope the young plays learn from this. They need to get better at making productive outs. Taking outside breaking pitches the other way with dropping the head so much that they get a lazy fly. Outside breaking balls should be weak line drives the other way consistently, at a minimum.

The series is not over, but the Cubs approach at the plate right now is not going to get it done.

I am waiting for Bartman to come out streaking on the field any moment, that would top it all off at this point.

Maybe you should STFU and keep your dumb ass comments to yourself.

Seriously, if watching bad results from small sample size variance bothers you, don't watch playoff baseball. You're not suited for it.

Sorta like tearing off a bandaid. Maybe these kids need to watch another team celebrate in their house.

I kept hoping a Cubs hitter would drill one into Kluber's liver. But I was afraid I might not look classy if I said so.[emoji12]

Clevelands hitters have hardly been the '27 Yankees.

And if Javy gets a 9th inning single, we're 2-2, in spite of all the talk of Cleveland dominance.

It isn't 4-1. We have our ace tomorrow, a World Series veteran who should be eager to show up. Then game 6 we get Arieta vs Tomlin, this will be the hardest game. Win that one somehow and it's game 7 against Kluber who will be pitching the 3rd time in 9 days against our best pitcher of the year in Hendricks.

Long shot? Of course but stranger things of happened. I for one am not giving up until it's over.

I've disagree with you in a number of things. Your assessment of Murray is bang on. I know loving Bill Murray is a cool Chive bro hipster Maddon thing to do

He was an annoying embarrassing fucking Special person last night

Made me long for Jim Belushi on the Bears sideline.

whaat.gif

This confirms how much of a classless idiotic ****** you really are !

Jim Belushi is a no talent ride the coat tails of his brothers fame loser.

This sounds like a post from most Cardinal fans. They are always looking for someone to "put one in his ear"

Oh good

Our 2017 closer is in and gave up a hard hit bomb that stayed in thanks to the wind.

For everyone assuming we'll be back again...anything can happen to ruin a season

Injuries
Pitching staff gets depleted
An awful bullpen
End of the pen closers who suck (see sf this year)

Then get to the post season and anything can happen again

Bats go silent
Run into a hot team
Run into a hot pitching staff
Run into a hot hitting team

I think our position players are set up for a nice run the next 3-5 years but we could lose:

Our leadoff Hitter and obp guy in Fowler
Our closer in chapman

Its not over but the time was now!

That said....down 3-1 I couldn't pick a better way to roll our 3 starters

Lester.
Jake.
Hendricks.

Clevelands hitters have hardly been the '27 Yankees.

Yup, let's keep saying stuff like this. They're winning. Who cares how?

Yes, our rotation to end it looks nice, but the offense..... The offense, man. It needs to do something. Anything.

Baez was not looking for a singe, even though a singe would have won the game. His approach this series has been horrible. Maddon did not want to move him up in the lineup because he was worried it would mess with his approach. Well he moved him up. It ruined his approach.

Sometimes guys just are not ready yet.
