Who's the dominant big man we're gonna pair Lebron with?

Might be Bosh, might not be anybody.

Perhaps a Rose/Joe Johnson/LeBron/Noah group doesn't need that monster inside guy, but it's a big risk

If you get LeBron and Bosh then no worries.

i will either hate WWW, or love him in the future.

from what ive heard

WWW is behind ALOT and has quite a bit of influence on most if not all of the FAs

and one thing interesting i didnt know was that he was friends with MJ and that helped him get into the basketball business

he is close friends with LeBron, I would take what he says very seriously. No sarcasm.

I love to hate WWW. He was extremely influential in luring Rose away from Illinois back in the day. But if he delivers us Bron, Bosh, STAT, Wade Johnson or any combination of the 3, all will be forgiven.

Certainly not as a coach. And as a recruiter, um have you seen his classes recently?

If Rose had his choice, he would've been in an Illini uniform. His brother and WWW had a lot to do with him attending Memphis.

he isnt that good

his classes have been good but i dont like to measure coaches by their overall coaching AND recruiting

if i did calipari would a top 5 coach

see my point

its not who you get its what you do with them

however,i do think that a good coach must be able to get good kids

especially in THEIR OWN FREAKING STATE

You can choose to believe the rumors or dismiss them. I'm doing the latter. I follow the notion of where there's smoke, there's fire, but I also know LeBron and his posse are a bunch of attention whores. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him bolt somewhere else.

I'm also not that worried because we have a damn good core right now. Losing LeBron isn't the worst thing that could happen. Rose is a budding superstar, Joakim is a double-double player with upside, Deng is a solid SF and Gibson could get even better. Anything we add on to this team IMO is a positive. Whether it's LBJ, Bosh, STAT, Johnson, Boozer, Dirk, etc.

I don't know what's going to happen on July 1st (or the 8th, whichever date it is), but I do know that I'm going to enjoy watching Rose become a star and Joakim climb his way up the rankings for C's. This is an exciting young team with a lot of potential if we can add on to it.

Oh, and see how Thibodeau does on the sideline.

Go Bulls!

I agree that losing out on Lebron isn't the worst thing that could happen. I don't feel we need Lebron to compete for a championship in the near future. I'm not worrying about Lebron, I'm more worried about striking out on the top talent available. I can dismiss the rumors, but as a fan I can't help that creeping anxiety when I hear rumors about what's going to happen.

By the way, great post, benn

this feels like a good time to use it:

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this message board is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I would have thanked that another 72 times if it would've let me.

Grandpa Kobe? Nah, he's probably with Brett Favre, his great-grandfather, as Favre reads him bedtime stories, and the following morning--Kobe reads his great, great, great grandkids stories of how he served in the Revolutionary War.

Which is what he's doing. His 2009, 2010 and 2011 classes are fucking awesome.

Btw, Bruce is known as one of the best X's and O's coaches out there. The man knows his stuff. When Bruce had talent, he went 37-2 (or whatever their record was). The question wasn't if he could coach, it was if he could recruit talent. Illinois basketball will see a large turn around with the amount of talent we currently have on the team.

Sorry for getting this thread off track. Back to your regularly scheduled programming. :bulls:

We will at least get Johnson. He may not be a home run, but he's certainly a major upgrade over Hinrich and improves the team. I personally think he was hurt with the isolation offense Woodson ran in Atlanta. Move him off the ball, into the post, in pick and rolls and I think you see a different player. His game is not 1 v 1. My only concern is his age and how much high level basketball he has left in the tank.
