RealGM is more of a basketball forum. The Bulls forum there is poppin'

they had like 12 100 page threads for Carmelo Anthony alone. They lock the threads when they reach 100 pages

I don't get it, technically, this board hasn't changed much since I joined. Lot of good conversation, I've learned a lot about my Bears team and football in general from this board. Does it get into a pissing match from time to time, sure... People do get banned. But, as long as I see solid conversations and can ignore the other (you know the scroll button on your mouse), all is good.

I totally agree with you but the mods around here are GARBAGE. they have this 'anything goes' philosophy, this is how they want the forum to look. They'd rather it be too loose rather than too strict. Many of us prefer it the other way, obviously.

I'd like this forum to be like RealGM personally.

Regarding the underlined....not a good idea. The comparison would be between the Bears board here & the Bulls board there, but CCS gets more traffic on it's Bears board than RealGM gets on it's Bulls board. Their Bulls board has been losing activity the last couple years.

This Bears board is big enough to have both adult conversation & a little frat boy fun.

The RealGM Bulls board is overly moderated, to the point of suspending/banning good posters because of personal vandettas from some mods. The mods on the CCS Bears board seem to balance things right.

The problem is when another Bears board is created the top ten losers on this board who have thousands of posts(usually not about football) infiltrate that board and create fake profiles of posters from here and the CBMB.

I like this board because there are a handful of posters and threads that enlighten me on Bears football, roster moves, rumors, etc. But I agree with the OP that it has become the primary life for about ten posters that have "cliqued" together to attack football threads and posters with gif's and the like.

My solution would be to limit the amount of posts each day to 10 per poster so they may actually be football related rather than one post out of every ten being a contribution to football talk.

I'm relatively new to this board. My comment is that on this thread, I have seen the names of a lot of people that I have never seen post on this board. I have to ask why not? If you want to add something to the conversation, then do it. I think that most of the people who post here do want to talk football. So I'd suggest that you put something out here that you'd like to have discussed.

Sure there is bullshit and piling on but you are going to have that on any board like this. Mods can be pricks and have favorites while others can be fair and add something to the discussion themselves. Make of it what you want to and do what you want to but I think that this board is pretty good and has some good folks on it.
