Anyway ... does anyone else have to stifle the urge to scream HELL NO whenever an ex-Canuck's name is mentioned as a potential Hawk?

But looking beyond that, SOB could be a solid 5/6 D-man on this team and probably wouldn't cost too much. They're going to need another D-man on the roster, anyway, with Lepisto and O'Donnell on their way out.

ummm no. Ex canuck, current canuck VIA trade. If they help the team and are good players no matter the history I want them on my team.

Are you saying you wouldnt take the sedins? or kessler or Bieska? I know I would and wouldnt think twice about it. The whole canucks/red wings crap is stupid.

"oh i wouldnt want him because he was on the canucks and stuffz" it just dumb

Did you read the rest of the post?

Considering that I posted that comment and then went on to say that SOB would be a good addition to the team, I think that answers the question.

I really wish the Hawks could have gotten Grabovski last year before he signed his extension.

he would have been a SOLID 2nd line center

Grabovski would have been the huge addition at the deadline, but TO wasn't going to let him go. Too bad for us.

Scott Hannan would also be a good 5-6 defenseman

You shouldnt even have to "stifle the urge to say hell no" That shouldnt even be a part of a fans personality. Just making that statement is meatballish, but clever how you turn the attention away from your post.

Meatball = someone with different views than you ... Got it.

So, now I'm not allowed to hate a team? Because there's no team that begs to be hated more than the Canucks. What else can I do to avoid your version of the meatball? Please, enlighten me. Start a thread, even. I'm dying for this education.

He'd better take one hell of a paycut, then. He got $4.5 million last season.

Again, to have this urge of hate because a player might have played for a rival is meatballish. you can hate a team, and their players while they represent that rival, but outside of that there should be no thinking about "well they played for a team I hate and stuff" no, just no. that is dumb thinking and that is why fans dont run teams. do you think vancouver had "urges and stuffz" when they traded for pahlsson? hell no. Did you have that "urge" when we signed hossa because "detroit sucks"?

Detroit is the best-run organization in hockey, has been for about 20 years.

I hate the Canucks. Their players, their fans, their coaches, their front office, their everything. It's a lot of fun to hate a team that much. But I guess that makes me a meatball. Cool story.

do you pay attention? great you hate everything about the canucks, and their current front office and players. fine. got it. Its the "urge" over the player that was on the canucks, just that thought alone is dumb.

Alex Burrows, BS aside, is actually a solid hockey player.

Sean O'Donnell
who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, is hoping to extend his playing career. "I would like to play; I think I showed I can still play in the right circumstance," O'Donnell said. "Maybe I'm not even an 82-game guy or a 20-minute guy. But the right fit, a good system. hopefully I can play." O'Donnell will turn 41 in October. He isn't likely to re-sign with the Chicago Blackhawks, but he might be able to land a job with a different team as a sixth or seventh blueliner. (Source: csnchicago.com)

I wouldn't mind seeing the Hawks make a trade offer for Robin Lehner.
