I dont buy that at all. Now Hossa needs a top line center to compete or play a 2 way game - otherwise he's only a defensive forward? No way. Hossa played like shit and it was his only fault. Where was he on the early PP's the Hawks had?

Oh well..game over....hopefully Toews isnt out long and they can move on. Games like this happen and it doesnt mean the Hawks dont care, dont have heart, etc. It was just a bad game.

Games like this have been hapening way to frequently. As far as caring and heart they sure as **** didn't show it. Their Captain was only knocked out of the game by a baorderline hit and they spend the rest of the game playing like they're the Charlestown Chiefs in the 1st period vs the Syracuse Bulldogs.

Toews was hurt, what, in the first 10 minutes, if not earlier? If someone would have challenged Dagostini immediately, or his next shift, or gone after Boyes, might have been a different story.

Of course but it looked like they're weren't interested in doing anything in the first 10...

I think the whole team treated that puck like a hand grenade.

They did, and you're right, Boynton's turnover at the blueline 2 minutes pervious was worse.

As far as Boytons dumb pass....that wasnt as deadly of a giveaway as many others all game. I'm not sure who the right winger was that never got there, but that play happens 100 times a game - no one was home. It wasnt like a throw to the slot - like he did in SJ.

The right winger had no stick (skille) so left the ice. Kane hopped on the ice just as Boynton sent the puck where there were no hawks.

Had BOynton kept going with the puck instead of blindly passing it to NO WHERE, the goal never happens.

That was a cheap, dirty hit by dagostini. Toews no longer had the puck. Why the NHL official did not call anything on another of the NHL Star players if a fucking mystery. Colin Campbell should be fired and both officials last night reprimanded.

There was another hit later in the game on Keith, clearly boarding, again no fucking call. He retaliated shortly after and he got a penalty.

Noticed that hit on Keith, too, Ron. Rogers is tweeting this morning that Toews injury not as serious as first thought. Comes from two sources, he says...

Well...the Hawks only have 3 centers that dress. Toews (a number 1) and Bolland (third line) and Dowell(fourth). Once Toews goes down...what are they to do?

Bolland has been tried many times to play with both Hossa and Kane - and has failed. I'm sure Q would rather have a natural center to play with Hossa ...but Toews, Sharp and Kopecky are the only ones that play well with Hossa or Kane. On Sunday, he only took 7 draws, not like he played center regularly. Bolland took 25 on sunday abd was at 36%. Not sure what calling up Brophy or Pirri would do to help make that better. Bolland's been the crippler here making over 3million a year and only able to play a 3rd line role - and talk about faceoff percentages...he's behind Toews, Sharp and Dowell. One's not a natural center, the other a rookie.

I still dont get what Hendry would do that Boynton doesnt. Nick and Cullimore are both plus players that play limited minutes.

No one aside from the goalie and goon showed up to play so why bother defending a teammate?

Not trying to rail Turco but at some point he is going to have to step up and STEAL a game.

Quick was pumbled with 54 shots IN DETROIT last week, he won with the shut out. Other goalies do it and at some point so will Turco.

Sharp, Johnson, Kopecky like you mention can play Center. Center has been a question for many years now and still is.

Sharp is probably the best option and was centering hossa part of last night.

And how many giveaways did Norris Keith have? On Johnson's goal that was tipped, take a look how the Blues had 2 players in front of the net - and Keith standing in no mans land in the right faceoff circle picking his ass while 2 blues stand in front of his net uncovered.. God forbid the reigning best defenceman in the league ever pick anyone up in front of the net - or at least try to battle for position.

Keith got blown around by Dagostini 3min into the game - with Turco bailing him out.

And feel free to go the the NHL gamecenter and watch highlights. Seabrook does the EXACT SAME PLAY Boynton did at the 2:31 mark of the first period. Winchester on the open wing centered to Boyes and Turco robbed him. Keith's all over the highlights for the Blues on their scoring chances.

Yeah... i think those will be the options - if Toews is out - rather than someone in Rockford. Probably Johnson in the lineup. Last night the lines were messed with Toews leaving early...then Brouwer for a bit too - I'm sure missed a few shifts. Scott sitting for 5...then killing those 4 min in the third, no Toews....trying to come back - you're bound to see different combos.

They didn't score on Seabrooks...

and feel free to relax a little.

I'm relaxed....his giveaway was the exact same. So is he as stupid as Boynton is?

I would bet - there is supposed to be an outlet there - that wasnt on both plays. Both threw the puck to the same side blindly....expecting that outlet to be there.

Seabrooks -

Boyntons -

I explained it to you. Skille lost his stick. The forward was not on the ice. Boynton did not even look. It ended up in the back of the net. And you justify it because Seabrook did something similar.

Come on.

And the sad part is Kane got a - because skille left the ice and Kane popped on just as the un assisted goal was scored. Boynton could have definitely had an assist though.

Why settle for an assist? He might as well as have put the puck in the net and gotten credit for the goal.

Justify it...no. I'm saying the exact same giveaway happened by Seabrook - it just didnt go in the net. That was a low percentage shot, from a bad angle that went it. If it went wide, or Turco makes the stop...is it anymore or less of a bad play by Boynton? Any worse than Seabrooks? No to either of them.

I can't blame Turco for anything in this loss. He kept it from being a complete blowout.

This one falls solely on the guys in front of him.

I disagree and if you look in the videos you posted Boynton had a clear lane to keep on going. He chose to send the puck back there to the land of no one, without looking.

You are most definitely justifying to because Seabrook did something similar. It was a poor choice by boynton that ended up in the back of the net.
