It just makes no sense to trade our most physical d-man.

If we pay our top 4 d-men $21 million next year, so be it. Unless they can find a taker for Campbell they will either have a highly paid d-core or a poor d-core if they cannot afford it.

Take Seabs out of the equation and we are fucked, softest D-core in the league. Hammer may not hit but he is physical in other ways -- one-on-one battles in front of the net don't show up on the scoresheet, and the guy blocks a ton of shots. I think hes physical enough, just look at the only two d-men last game that were worth a shit, Hammer and Seabs.

Do we need a guy who can hit in order to improve? I say no, we don't. I'd much rather see a Sopel-type physicality added. Look at how the team was doing with Hendry in place of "physical" Boynton. We don't absolutely need more hitting from our defenseman, we need our forwards to play more D and be more physical in place of that.

Last year our d-core was probably considered "soft" looking at the stats. Outside of Seabrook, Hammer was next in line with a whooping 59 hits. This year our D-core as a whole are on pace to beat out last years combined total. Its not about "hits".

Softest D corp in the league? Try the softest fucking TEAM in the league. Other than Seabrook who else on this team plays physical?

Bickell.... Nope

Brouwer... Nope

Scott..... Nope and he's the fucking enforcer! He pulls UP instead of hitting players when he's iced that is.

There is not ONE player on this team that plays physical. Remove Seabrook and they are all a bunch of PUSSIES!

As for last year this team held the possession of the puck like a fucking mad man... Other teams barely had a chance at the PUCK let alone trying to get quality shots off.

This year there is absolutely NO puck possession. Thus the D is constantly on the defense trying to stop "quality" chances.

Puck Possession teams win games. Teams that have a hard time getting and keeping possession lose games.

That and Duncan Keith is a fucking turn over machine. Not good when your Norris Defenseman is popping the puck to the other team in the defensive zone.

  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Tab from the Committed Indian has sources telling him that a trade involving an Ice Hog is going down tonight.

He are the Rockford scratches: Beach, Vishnevskiy, Jessiman, Bollig

Trade might be done.

IF and this is a big IF the Hawks are shopping Seabs or getting calls about him (which always happens). I wouldn't look at Edmonton being the destination. I would look at L.A. being the team wanting him the most. They lack that one extra hard working blueliner. Wanna see Doughty, Johnson and Seabs? I bet L.A. does. And they have the cap space to make it happen.

Edmonton certainly could use him not saying they can't. But hmmm think there are other holes in Edmonton also. They need a goalie first and foremost.

Turco has a no movement clause (according to Capgeek). No way they trade Crawford.

Wasn't suggesting the Hawks were going to trade a goalie to Edmonton. Was simply suggesting the Oilers would probably be better off looking at aquiring a goalie before looking at a blueliner like Seabrook. That goalie could come from anywhere.

I thought CGY's top 4 of Boum (6.6) Reghr (4) Sarich (3.3) Giordano (4)..is just under 18 and they're rumored to may be moving Regehr (although I doubt if in the playoff picture).

Regardless...having 18mil is still 3-4 less to spend on a better 5-6 than what the Hawks were shuffling in/out at 500K

Regehr would be a great stop gap, I'd love to see him in the Indianhead.

Brouwer... Nope

Brouwer is 5th in the league in hits, therefore, I respectfully disagree.

That aside, you are correct sir.

So, I'm hearing Stan was in Boston today. Rumors swirling that they are talking Seabrook for Toronto's #1 pick, plus a player. Boston doesn't want to give up the player, though, which is the supposedly the holdup. I don't know what kind of truth there is to this, but then again you never know with any rumor.

Stan will be laughed out of town if he deals Seabrook.

I agree completely, but that seems to be the talk on Boston sports radio from what I understand. I don't see it happening, honestly, unless the contract talks are going more poorly than I thought possible.

He is RFA not UFA. There is no immediate need to resign him right now. They will get something for him either way.

Unlike when Kane and JT's contracts come up. They will be UFA's.

I heard Bufalo's rumor was Miller for Kane. It get's funnier by the minute.

Right, I was talking more along the lines of him wanting an amount far higher than they'd be willing to give him. I guess it doesn't make sense whatsoever, because if someone signs him to an offer sheet and the Hawks don't match, the draft pick compensation for a salary like that would be waaaaaaay more than a single first rounder.

Someone posted on 300 Level that Stan was on ESPN1000 in Chicago. Sounds like he said Seabrook wants to stay, they want to retain him, negotiations are going well, he is an RFA so he will be with the Hawks next year. He also acknowledged that the Kane to Buffalo rumor was b.s., but did mention more possible moves coming up.

Paraphrasing from someone else paraphrasing on another board... sorry!

I can tell you with 100% confidence Kane is not going anywhere. Don't ask me how I know because I have NO INSIDE on that one.

Seabrook does not want to go. Stan said two weeks ago that he was not going to trade him. Every year for the longest time there were Seabrook rumors. Why, because he is a GREAT D man. One of the top in the league. Those physical stay at home guys are NOT easy to find.

I love this time of year. Miller for Kane..... Maybe they'll throw in Tyler Myers as well.

ROTFL!!
