While Jonathan Toews had a rare (for him, of late) night off the scoresheet, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa filled it up. That was good enough for their fourth sraight road win, but moving forward, this team needs to have more than just their deadly top two lines delivering offensively.

Yeah, it would be nice to see the 3rd line kick in some goals soon. As long as Smith keeps playing around the net, he should be able to get a few, but I worry about Bolland and it's really not his fault...

because the big disappointment is Frolik. He's shown almost no offensive ability. He's not even holding the puck or even getting his crummy shots like he was earlier this year. He's constantly fighting along the boards (fine), but nothing is coming from it. That line is in desperate need of someone that can make a play.

Smith can bang the net and Bolland can shoot... but with nobody to really carry the mail, they're all floundering. I'd dump Stalberg on the wing and let Frolik sit on the 4th line.

For me, I'd put Stalberg on the 3rd and move Smith down to the second.

Carcillo/Toews/Kane - even though I think Q may send Carcillo a message for that late penalty and see if Bickell has a fire under his ass yet.
Sharp/Kruger/Hossa
Frolik/Bolland/Stalberg
Smith/Mayers/Brunette

I didn't mind that dumb penalty that Carcillo took (easy to say in hindsight).

It could have been costly no doubt, but in a road game against the Islanders... I'll take the effort by Carcillo and just give him a friendly reminder to make sure the penalties match next time he pulls something like that.

I think Toews took some stickwork prior to that penalty and Carcillo has shown ZERO hesitation to back Toews up. Keep it up I say. That stuff is worth more than two points against an Eastern team in December.

And yeah... I like those lines you posted. That would be worth a shot.

Carcillo was having a great game before that penalty. It obviously could have cost us but didn't. Also, I agree completely that he is doing a great job getting in there when Toews/Kane need a little extra help.

He just can't throw a punch/slap/glove like that in a scrum. Grab the guy, let him know you are there, get in his face, slash his ankle - all things that won't get called.

The only reason I say to sit him is that you have to let him know that he can't get away with that or with worse. He seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders this year and I can't remember that many "bad" penalties so far.

Ben Smith
has been sent down to AHL Rockford. Smith has a goal in seven games with the Blackhawks this season. He also has six goals and 10 points in nine AHL contests. (Source: Blackhawks.nhl.com)

Patrick Sharp
netted the game-winning goal on Sunday, just a few hours after bringing his newborn baby girl home. Sharp and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child on Friday. "It was tough to focus on hockey when so much is going on back home," Sharp admitted. "We have a great locker room so it's easy to kind of turn things off when you come to the rink. I was a space cadet for the whole game (Sunday) and then I was able to bounce one in there for the winner." Sharp has been amazing lately, scoring nine goals and 12 points in his last eight games. He's in a three-way tie for fifth in the NHL with 16 goals. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Bryan Bickell
has been a healthy scratch for five straight games. Bickell established himself as a regular with Chicago last season and made a great impression in the first round of the 2010 playoffs, but he's played well below expectations in 2011-12. He has five points and a minus-eight rating in 24 games. That being said, we think he'll find a way back into the lineup in the near future. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Ray Emery
turned aside 35 of 37 shots in Chicago's 3-2 overtime win over San Jose Sunday night. Emery has started three of the Hawks' last four contests and since he notched a victory on this night it looks like there could be a goalie controversy brewing in the Windy City. (Source: Rotoworld.com)

Although nothing has been confirmed, we wouldn't be surprised if Ray Emery ended up starting in Wednesday's game. "Ray has played well. . . . We'll keep making decisions based on their play," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. He said that before Emery stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 3-2 overtime victory. Emery has started in three of Chicago's last four contests and if Quenneville follows the guidelines that he spelled out before the contest, Emery should start again. (Source: Chicago Sun-Times)

Time for Stan to ship out Bickell & Frolik.

Need some other guys not named Sharp, Toews, Hossa, Kane scoring.

Take a little load off the big guns. Too much to ask?

Bickell and Frolik aren't that garbage ass. They're not bad. They're average. They've played well before and just aren't doing it now.

Another guy Hawk fans barely give criticism to, is because he shuts down the Sedin sisters.

Regardless if he's playing injured or not, need alot more from Davey boy.

Then again, it's just another awful contract like Frolik's.

And maybe he doesn't get criticism because he is one of the best two-way centers in the league. The only thing that could be criticized is his injuries.

I don't think he knows what a checking line is. Bolland is great at what he does and what he's supposed to do. We're lucky to have a player like him and Jonathon Toews. Two of the best two-way centers in the NHL.

Look who he's playing with. For most of the year, he was saddled with Frolik and Bickell... two guys you want gone. How's a guy going to produce when his linemates are complete duds?

I'm with you on Frolik. Guy pisses me off.
