And this is the team you thought would contend next year?

In case you missed it....it's a rebuild now, no retooling allowed.

The only thing they'll be in contention for is a #1 draft pick.

Na Azl has got this.

What I want to see is the updated Cubs top 30 after this hoseout. That will show if the overall was a good deadline.

Trying to judge each one is a bit pointless at this point.

That deal isn't as appealing to me as some of the others. Not to say it's *bad* but seems kinda low given what other players have gone for. Cubs must really like Canario
Canarios numbers are pretty unimpressive. Can't find number for Killian

I’m on vacation and somewhat off grid but got some WiFi for a few hours - can someone recap just wtf has happened the past few days?
Luka went #52 to Detroit. Weiskamp went higher.

Rizzo to Yanks
Javy to Mets
Kimbrel to South side
Bryant to SF
Marisnick, Tepera, Williams also gone

Good prospects back from SF, Sox, Yankees, Mets. Lots to learn before we know if they’re all crippled and blind as JTS will assert, or whether they can play.

Cubs paying almost no salaries next year. Well, JeyHey.

I guess I'm confused what the **** the Mets wouldn't give up for Bryant with the return we actually got for him. They gave up a better return and got less back

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Gross.
So is JA Happ a guy from my hometown. Could root for him anywhere until now.
Fucking Cardinals still think they are in it. They're gonna need to play .800 ball to catch the runaway train in Milwaukee.

Viz is now ranked #6. 50 grade arm.
Canario alao is a 50 ranked bat.
Alacantara 50 ranked bat. Ranked #9.
Armstrong 50 ranked bat.

So that puts the top 14 all 50+ grade prospects. That is very deep. No big chips but the depth is solid 2nd tier talent.

Another post criticizing cub fans if they go back the team and then when they win again we will criticize them for being bandwagon jumpers
Wrong, no criticism but reality. Cubs fans have always gone to Wrigley, no matter how the team played. That is the way it is and nothing wrong with that, just saying, no matter what re-tool, rebuild or championship team fans will flock to Wrigley regardless. That was the point! Never criticize a Cubs fan they are baseball fans

Lester and Happ should put them over the top. Lester is just not good anymore and Happ just came off a game where he got bombarded
