This board. He is high power upside guy that did get a lot of love for his rookie year.

The NL is eventually getting a DH. You need players like him in your system. The more you have of them. The more likely you are to hit on one.

No one is calling him the next Rizzo except Skittles, but Im pretty sure he is just a bad troll job.

For what it’s worth, fangraphs did update it and lowered his grade to a 40+ and gave him a ranking of 17th in the cubs system. Still a nice get for joc whomst had no future in Chicago

They dropped his power from 60 to 50. Seems strange. But,my point still stands.

Braves are sellers now

@Chicagosports89
that’s okay, he claimed this just a few days ago. Then it’s the BRAVES that bought Joc

nObOdY iS gOnNa B bUyErZ!!!

I was at least correct about where a 45 grade prospect would be ranked in the cubs system. Can’t help they changed him to a 40+ yesterday

Well it was close. You would have thought Joc for a bucket of balls. Got the ball part right.

MLB has Ball ranked at #29.

Ball posted a 1.112 OPS with 21 homers in two years at North Iowa CC, then logged a 1.047 OPS with 18 homers in his lone season at Dallas Baptist, which earned him an over-slot $197,500 bonus from the Braves in the 24th round of the 2019 Draft. After batting .329/.395/.628 in his pro debut and spending time in 2020 at Atlanta's alternate site, he had increased swing-and-miss issues in High-A during the first half of 2021. The Braves dealt him to the Cubs for Joc Pederson after the All-Star break.

Though Ball offers plus-plus raw power from the left side of the plate, it's unclear how much he can make of it. He has struggled to make contact and lift the ball in the air against more advanced pitchers this year. He has retained his patience, however, and led the High-A East with 40 walks in 53 games at the time of his trade.

Ball has to produce at the plate because he offers little value elsewhere. While he's more athletic than the typical 6-foot-6, 240-pounder, he's still a below-average runner and defender at first base. He has average arm strength but can't play another position and spent most of his season at Dallas Baptist as a DH.

He’s a future Adam Dunn basically. He is not going to hit for avg, he can’t field, but he’s going to pop some home runs and walk a lot while striking out a lot.

So what will be Jed's next magic trick?

Jake for Madison? Bum swap.

So he’s not #8 in our system? I think them dropping him has something to do with a 23 year old getting worked in A ball lol

never said he WAS #8, I gave a range of 8-11 based off of the most recent grade he had at the time and where that put him in correlation to the cubs current farm system. And you know this…or maybe you don’t get that…

Hey, when do the braves start selling off?!

I would offer 5/100 take it or goto a contender.

But you pretty much can tell Bryant is gone. Davis is gone.

Baez has a large fan base and Rizzo has been a team leader for a long time.

But 2022

Happ LF
Davis CF
Heyward RF
Wisdom 3B
Baez SS
Hoerner 2B
Rizzo 1B
Contreras C

Amaya back up catcher
Bote DH?
Alcantra UI

Rotation needs a TOR to work with Hendricks.

Even if Jed signs both at 5/100 there should be 70 M left to piece together another deadline debate.

no way Jed should give riz 20 mil per for 5 years. I love rizzo, but no. I’d go 3 years 45 mil and say it’s the best offer we can do Anthony
