Not sure why Fangio didn't press more or blitz. Dude let Brock throw short stuff all day by having CBs play off and not blitzing.

I understand going into the game like that but when it is obvious your D is not applying pressure and Brock is too comfortable back their dinking and dunking then you need to adjust.

As for the O, I have no clue what Nagy was thinking on the last set of downs. Dude refused to give Trubs a chance to get the first and with 7 better options he gives it to at best our 8th best playmaker on 2nd down in Benny. Throw the ball dude.

They were getting it out quick and making us tackle, which we couldn't. That said, with them doubling up Mack and Hicks, there are going to be gaps for Smith to shoot. Agreed about nagy at the end and it wasn't about not trusting mitch. just some weird stuff.

As for Mitch. Having a good game against the miami pass D is difficult. Brady threw up a 94 rating and he's second best by a lot. Miami is currently 5th in passer rating against and only because of the 122 that Trubisky threw at them yesterday. I considered this game a good test for Mitch and he passed. Didn't get an that A like the rating would indicate but I was satisfied that it didn't appear like his play won't progress.

Getting it out quick and comfortable is different from getting it out quick under pressure. The few times we blitzed, Brock was throwing shit in the ground.

Miami has a good passer rating against because they lead the league in picks. As a whole they are bottom of the league against the pass. They give up an abysmal 278 yards a game. So it is a porous passing D with guys that can't really cover well that make up for that fact by getting picks.

Not sure what you mean by "stalling out" but they did try to get more yards on that Howard run so they didn't intentionally try to make it a 53 yard field goal and Howard was running well up the middle in the OT.

What about the two plays prior to third down. Howard was out and they ran Cohen and then Cunningham. If your going to sit Howard after the two nice runs, Throw the ball on first to Cohen or Burton, and then bring in Howard again to pound the ball.

1. Trubs
2. Cohen
3. Howard
4. Arob
5. Gabriel
6. Miller
7. Burton

But hey let's give it to Benny on 2nd down over all of the above.

And frankly Bellamy is probably a better option too.

My observation: Kyle Fuller had two interceptions and still had a bad game.

I agree. I wish someone would teach him the basics of tackling. I truly believe the league has him figured out that he is always going to roll at the knees to make the tackle and they are simply jumping over the top of him. Saw it at least 2 or 3 times yesterday.

Yeah, but that's fine because it only gives up an additional yard or two with the hurdle. At least he gets the guy down. The real problem is those that CAN'T make the tackle and give up major RAC because of weak-ass arm tackling.

Fuller plays scared when he takes on a runner or tries to tackle a tight end. He acts like a matador bullfighting, oh-lay

You have no problem running Benny instead of getting it to one of 7 better playmakers?

I would have thrown it on 2nd down, but I didn't have a problem with it because they were running well. I actually like him more on a run up the middle than Cohen.

*Turnovers obviously hurt the overall performance of the Bears’ offense, but I was actually impressed with Trubisky. He made some good plays, made some bad plays, but he was also the unquestioned leader on the field for the Bears. The broadcast and announcing of the game was terrible, and they didn’t really delve into the offensive PI against Trey Burton. It seems like the refs only throw the flag on the ‘pick play’ when it’s a goal-line situation, and Burton did a really poor job of not turning and looking for the ball…he basically just ran into the Dolphin player and shoved him down. I thought it was kind of dumb to be passing on 1st and goal from the 3, but I guess Howard did have a goal-line fumble earlier in the game.
en.

Sorry, this is just not true. It's not even close to being true.

This is the play where they called Burton for PI.

Note a few things:

1) Ball isn't even in the fucking air.
2) The conact is not in the endzone - still within 5 yards of LOS.
3) Kiko Alonso initiates the contact - not Burton (look where Burtons hands are.)

This is where Kiko pushed Burton off. There is no longer contact of any sort at this point. Note, that TRUBS STILL HAS THE FUCKING BALL!!!! Cannot be PI. Kiko is not pushed and does not "go down".

This is when the ball is actually about to be released.

On no planet in the world is this PI. And the mother fucker didn't call it illegal contact because IT WASN'T (5 yards of LOS). So, instead, he makes up a Bullshit PI call.

This was a bullshit call that completely swung the momentum of the game.

Exactly this.

One of many many bad calls in the game.

And yet, the bears still had a chance to win it in the end.. and they choked.

The offense did not look good at all until half time. I don’t know if it was a lack of execution, bad play calling, maybe 1st half after bye week jitters but they didn’t look ready to go either.
Edit: they also deserve credit for being able to turn it around though.

Missed a throw on a TD pass and drove to the one before Howard fumbled. That's 14 points they missed out on. It wasn't a series of three and outs.

Irrational fans like to use the word choke.

Benny got 4 yards. Massie was destroyed by Andre Branch on Howard's run, as he crossed Massie's face into the hole before Massie even moved.

Momentum was not changed until Trubs threw the dumb pick. Penalties and bad calls happen. The Bears were still in great position to score and had 3 chances on what would be first and goal at the 13. Trubs decided he wanted to get it all back on one play.

Not sure your point. This isn't about hindsight review. There is no good reason to put the ball in the hands of your 8th best playmaker when trying to win the game.

And there is no good reason to run on 3rd and 4 as you overwhelming fail to get the first in that situation particularly when everyone in stadium knows you are running.

Yeah, blah, blah. You going to fester about this for the entire week again?

Benny got 4 yards. Not a bad run on 2nd and 8. Running it off right gurad 5 times in a row was not a great idea, I agree. But Howard pulled himself out of the game again while he was the hot hand. Do we know if Mitch had a choice of run or pass on those plays? No, we don't.

But continue with the overreaction. This loss didn't bother me as much as you. Nagy's 5th game as a HC. I think he's doing fine, and trust he will learn as he continues on this path.

Depends on whether yall keep making excuses or not.

Benny should not be on the field in crunch time. If Howard needs a break then you put Cohen in there and run a play that suits him or better yet pass the ball.

No one said Nagy isn't doing fine. I am discussing this one game not commenting on his entire coaching career or potential.

Not sure why yall get whiny because people discuss the game. You can stop responding with excuses anytime you want and then I will have nothing to respond too.
