Goddamnit. Why can't anyone call out McD and his shitty style. He might have pull in traditional Chicago media, but not on the internet. C'mon IHN, do what is needed. Or are you afraid McD has tentacles here too?

Tentacles, I doubt.

Observants, yes.

If I had the outlet I would love to.

Funny, I'm graduating in 2 weeks and now looking for a career. And everyone who knows me always mentions how badly I would want to work for the Hawks, and if the opportunity presented itself I'd probably take it, but from the outside looking in, I always just laugh on the inside when people mention working for a guy like McD.

Somebody should send Josh a note and mention to him we are discussing that time, those incidents and where we are today.

It would be interesting to hear his perspective since he has moved on.

He's done with it. I still talk with him from time to time. He's moved on. Old news.

No thanks.

And his lack of testicles don't bother me in the slightest.

What is really frustrating is the fact that we had the money without a doubt to be a much better team during last off-season and definitely around the trade-deadline. The bottom line is Stan has NOT made us a better team, to me in anyway. The true frustration lies with Tallon making all the moves I'd like to see for his team in Florida (besides Skille.)

That is how i feel about Savard too. I can understand that they let him go. And i would argue that the team at that time, Savard wasnt a good fit. While I have no basis in truth or fact, to me, Savard would be an awesome coach with a squad of more vets. they were just a bunch of kids and I feel needed a different kind of coach.

But what the Back Office did, but firing him 4 games into a season is not just saying "he isnt the right guy", you trashed his whole coaching future. You trashed his system and embarassed him. They KNEW he wasnt the guy pre-season, why did they let him go into regular season at all?

This team is slowly becoming the very reason I stopped watching all other pro sports in the first place.

Great post. Can the bold part be my new sig?

It sums up the McDonough-Hawks perfectly.

@ Tater: Feel free.

@ Rosh: I have debated doing....something. But really once my decisions were made about my season tiks, I personally have no motivation to do so. "They" wont make it better. "They" wont change anything for a lowly 300's holder. "They" showed their true colors and hits 3 lesson I have learned thus far in my life:

When the leopard show you his spots, pay attention, they wont change.

Never put passion before principle

The only vote left that really counts is where you spend your money

So my Church going status has changed to a Travelling Hockey Evanglist where I will conduct my Brookist worship in local bars and other barns to spread the Good Word of Hockey, my "Priestly" liturgical uniform will simply be that of the Chief Blackhawk inspired by Mr. McLaughlin.

I'm not sure that falls on Stan. Did we really have that Cap space? They were paying Huet 5.2 mil to play elsewhere and Olesz 3.2 mil to play elsewhere.

Thats about 8.4, just over the "cap space" we were supposed to have. Just a thought.

Come on now RK, we could afford 3 millions for Frolik, possibly the biggest waste of money SINCE Huet. We could afford 3.75 for Montador, another big disappointment, (and I was a big supporter of the move.) We could afford a whopping 3.75 for Oduya who turned out to be the best move he's made, at least for the regular season. And for my last "we could afford", we were paying Brunnette 2 million.

Thats a ton of money right there in just 4 players and I'm only looking at one quality player in Oduya, who subsequently played awful in our 6 game series.

I give Stan a bit of space. He had some rough decisions after Cup year that the most qualified and experienced GMs would have trouble with. But he has had some time now and this coming and following year will mark his team in my book. Then he shall be judged.

McDonough loves this kind of attitude!

Stan would have had SERIOUS problems if not for Dudley and Tallon. Dudley took Buff, Ladd, and Eager. Tallon took Kopecky, and Campbell.

The only other GM to help was Burke with Versteeg and he ended up in Florida anyway.

So even after Mcdonough shafted them they both went after some of their players.

Oh and Doug Wilson told him to **** OFF and made an Offer on Hjarlmarsson making him chose between #4 and the guy Wilson really wanted in Niemi.

Pay 8-10% higher ticket prices!

HA!

Not this kid... Others shall receive my hockey cake... Because I will spend at least as much as I would have for seats next year watching Hawks play elsewhere.

Rehashing that debacle just makes me fucking depressed. The Blackhawks coulda had the hockey world by the balls and McDonough just fucked it up. I think with DT at the helm we coulda been a cap era dynasty. Not suggesting we would won the cup every year, but from winning the cup to getting bounced twice in the first round.

Remember all the talk about how awesome the dressing room was cup year. You don't hear that anymore at all (least I dont hear it). I would not be shocked to see our big names find new teams when their contracts are up if the shit is as bad as it seems.

well Supra Boston just won the Cup and were bounced in the first round just like the Hawks last year. They unlike the Hawks did not have a huge cap mess to overcome.

I agree with you, just pointing out the fact that in this era, back to back Championships will be near impossible. Too much parity in the league, which is what they wanted after the lock out.

And add to that I do not agree with many of the decisions made by the front office and most certainly think things could have been done in both a better fashion and more beneficial for the team.
