I do think Demp to CHW would make alot of sense. Not sure what CHW could offer though. I bet Cubs be interested in some of the specs though

14 million is the salary this year, but the Cubs have shown no reluctance to pick up salary to get better prospect(s) under Ricketts.

actually i disagree with that. They shown no reluctance to pick up salary to get rid of guy. Volstad and Bowden not exactly anthing to get excited about

I was gonna say we just take on his salary and some low a specs. I forgot he is getting paid heavy.
I am not sure what kind of specs he will net the cubs if the cubs pay his salary. FA to be as well. Ive seen teams get fleeced I have seen the opposite. :dunno:

Derrek Lee, Kosuke Fukudome, Carlos Zambrano, and Marlon Byrd were all cases were the team picked up salary to get a deal done. Unfortunately in the cases of Zambrano and Byrd they dealt them at their lowest value, but it doesn't change the fact that the team has been willing to pick up salary.

Funny part is in all those deals Cubs dont have 1 guy worth a shit. Maybe they should stop paying salarly and see if they get lucky

It might but at this point there is no reason to believe that they wouldn't be willing to do it again if it improved the return since they've done it regularly in the past with both GMs Ricketts has had.

Exactly because there are plenty of factors outside of the player's salary and production. We will see what the Cubs are able to do because the market has changed substantial due to what Rice has pointed out. I think a deal could be done with the Sox, but the return would be awful unless we were getting a guy like Nate Jones. We will see.

Our belief that he would do well doesn't change the fact that his value at the time of the deal was nil. I didn't agree with making the move for purely clubhouse reasons, but Theo and Jed did. I am not going to crucify them over that one.

have you ever played on a team?? You just cant have guys like Z on your team and win. Dude is a ticking time bomb never know when he will blow up and quit on the team like last year. I dont care if he wins the Cy Young with the Marlins getting that guy off the team was a must.

Winning curse alot of things. I understand he needed to go but i felt cubs should have tried to see how he started this year off with Cubs. If he got off to great start like he has cubs could have gotten more then a shitty AAA pitcher
