Tell them they can have Foles and a can of Dinty Moore Stew, or they can fuck off and make Wentz someone else's headache.

Pace just checked in to this thread and saw we made it to 1000 posts for Wentz.

So many different things flying out there. It will be somewhere between 2 firsts and the Eagles giving the Bears picks.

The wild card is Foles. Some think the Eagles want him. I think the Bears realize that he can't be on the roster and wouldn't mind the slight cap space created in the deal. If that's the case then he's a negative asset. Not taking compensation into account, Files would play the role of 'Goff'in that other deal.

If that's the case should be willing to give up something to purge him from the roster.
Rams had to rid themselves of Goff to take on Stafford, and he had a massive multi year salary. That is not the case with Foles. You could easily unload him without paying to do so.

So this means Pace ISN'T trading the farm for Wentz. All these posters freaking out for nothing...
Depends on your definition of giving up the farm. Wentz blows. Even an offer of 1 3 Cohen or Miller(based on last weeks rumor) is too much.

Once upon a time the bears traded a first round draft pick for Rick mirer. That isn’t giving up the farm. It is squandering a first round pick for a shitty player. A trade for wentz involving a 1 round pick IMO would be Rick mirer level fleeced.

Not even close. Mirer was an epic level bust with a 65.2 passer rating, 41/56 TD/INT and 53% comp and a 20-31 record at the time. It wasn't even debatable whether or not he was a horrible QB, yet somehow the Bears gave up a 1st for him so he could come start and lose 3 whole games as a Bear.

If something doesn't happen with wentz over the next couple days I could see them dragging it out until draft day to try to regain leverage
Maybe the good collaboration in the Hall these days is keeping Pace from making stupid offers. :smug2:

They aren't going to pay his $10mil roster bonus which comes due long before the draft, in mid March.

Thank you for pointing that out. Eagles have really backed themselves into a corner with their asking price over the last couple days. They are likely going to look pretty foolish once a trade goes down.
