This is a salary dump for the Eagles. Bears are doing a huge favor to them if Pace is stupid enough to pull this off. All the leverage is on the Bears. Eagles need to add draft picks as a bribe for any team making this deal for Wentz. Pace needs to get least a 1st and 2nd for this!

Not a player I want, but that is not a bad contract for a starting vet QB.

Carr but even if I had the choice between Wentz and a FA or ride with Foles I'd rather do that. Save a bunch of cap space and keep all your picks with Foles>Trade for Wentz

I read it as the Bears are looking to package future picks with their current 2nd to get Wentz which to me is a disaster. Its a different story if PHI sends picks with him.

I ultimately have no qualms rooting for Derek Carr or Deshaun Watson but I just find Wentz particularly sulky and annoying.

Lions can get out of Goff's contract in 2022 for 15mil if they release him or 0 if they trade him
Bears are on the hook for 25 mil in 2022 if they decide to move on.
Goff is slightly better, and a lot less injury prone.

If the Bears don't do any restructuring to Wentz contract to lower his cap number this year they will only be on the hook for his 2021 salary and roster bonus. Wentz 2022 salary guarantees on the 3rd day of the league year so if they cut him before then they won't owe him anything
