Fair enough. I guess I'm just not really sold on Mariota and I think next years class should be much better

Outside of cook, it doesnt seem to be. And I rather not be so shitty this season that we have a shot at cook.

You idiots are gonna miss Cutler when we go thru another 50 quaterbacks... for what? Spread QB? KAPERNICK? RG3? get the fuck outta here.
Cutler has only took his team to the playoffs one time.

So what exactly are we gonna miss?

I would rather the Bears unload Cutler and send them our 7th pick to do that then draft Mariota and pay a bust qb 4-5 million a year. He won't be able to hack it in this league. I would much rather the Bears keep Cutler than get Mariota but if they must unload Cutler send the Titans our 7th with nothing in return instead of drafting Mariota so they don't have to pay his contract. You don't pay Clausen 4-5 million a year and I think Clausen has more talent than Mariota.

The team will pay Cutler, who has been nothing but a bust for the Bears, 15M this year, and paid 20M+ last, but you're afraid of paying a rookie top 10 pick 4-5M? And in the same paragraph you suggest giving away the 7th overall pick for nothing? If they wanted to get rid of Cutler that bad they'd just bite the bullet and cut him, this isn't basketball where you have to trade away bad contracts. All in all, a very puzzling post..

That's just a guy's opinion based completely upon the idea that it's not enough of a value for Tennessee on the draft value chart. Hate myself for even asking this, but did you actually read it, or just look at the headline and say "well, there you go" and post it without getting the gist of it first?

Hahaha I read it and I didn't say I agree with it I just thought it was a interesting article that some would want to see.

You may prove to be correct, but we know for certain there will be no Super Bowl under Jay's watch. I would rather roll the dice on the unknown potential and crap out than to have never tried. 8 - 8 with a single playoff game once every six years just doesn't do it here.

I think realistically Mariota could happen and Cutler still starts 2015.

I would hope if they draft him that they start him. Plenty of time in minicamps, TC and PS to learn the ropes. Sure he won't be fully developed by opening day, but get him in there and start his progress. By the time the defense is good in 2016, he'll have a year under his belt and will be ready to come out swinging in year 2.

wouldnt mind mariota but he needs to be able to sit for a season and learn rather than getting tossed into the fire.

Imagine if you were forced to wear a hockey skate for a year without ever taking it off for the full 12 months. Just one skate, not both. And then, finally, the day comes when you get to take it off.

I will miss Cutler as much as you would miss that skate.

Word.

I cannot wait for Jay Cutler to be another footnote in this never ending cycle. I have just as much anticipation for that day as I do the day this vicious cycle finally ends. Even if we have to deal with a few bums along the way, we can at least go back to agreeing they are bums.

Better than watching so much of our fanbase bask in delusion over the mirage that has been Jay Cutler.

When I see guys like Carr, Tannehill, Wilson, and even Bridgewater coming in and playing well their rookie years it makes me feel that a QB can be found in the draft that can come in and start and be somewhat effective. Now I know that not any QB will be solid and that there are plenty of examples of QB's flopping. But QB's coming out of college are a little more NFL ready than what they used to be, so if the Bears end up drafting a QB in the first 3 rounds of this draft I wouldn't be surprised if the urgency to move Cutler increases.

They may hold on to Cutler and put him on an even shorter leash, but it would not surprise me if they were to trade him to a team that is desperate for a QB (either through injury or bad play)

But if that was the best skate you have ever worn?

Why is it such a certainty the the Bears will continue to lose no matter the QB? If the Bears were to draft Petty in the 3rd and rebuilt the defense in this year and next years draft you don't think the Bears could be good in a year or two.

I can't wait to see the Bears win with someone else so the Cutler fans can bitch that the Bears could have done the same with Cutler if they held on to him.

Most of us rather lose with another QB also. Atleast there is hope that a young QB can get better or hope we can build a defense while we pay a QB a rookie salaray.

The change is coming, the only question is when and how much it will cost.

With Winston starting to get confirmed to the Bucs I would expect that Mariota and 2 will start to beat up a little.

Might not be the Bears, but I think he is going 2.

If Winston does go 1 and Mariota goes 2, does Jax still take OLB at 3 or do they take Leonard Williams? If they take OLB, then does Oakland take WR or Leonard Williams? If they take WR, Williams is all of a sudden only 2 picks away from us.
