Bullshit. Bickell and Bolland were near each other after the hit - both in clear view of the play in front of them. Ericsson had went to the puck and turned up ice.
There was plenty of time to have gotten to him, before the refs, and everyone came together.
Yes, in the corner when everyone was huddled, he was grabbed/people were in between Smith and rest of the Hawks - but he had plenty of time to do something seeing it happen right in front of him.

that's funny because I don't see Bickell in that picture... In the video, he is already being grabbed to slow him down at this point. And what you failed to mention is the first thing Bolland did is slashed the stick out of his hands at there. But it's already been mentioned that no one wants to see Bolland fight. I guess with a history of back problems, and concussions getting in a fight in preseason. Yeah genius.

Personally I don't want Bolland getting in a fight with some AHL hack. TYVM. He most definitely slashed at him, watch the replay. Also in the replay Bickell is NO WHERE around. Watch it again. Then they ALL go towards the glass. where Several Wang are between Smith and the Hawks. Which is where Seabrook got his penalty. I would prefer NONE of our guys go fucking around with AHL players, with no chance to make the show, right before the fucking season starts.
All we need is MORE starters out. Before the show even begins.

What would it achieve if somebody went after Smith? Against a player that the Hawks will probably never see again nonetheless. Nothing. It doesn't do anything. It changes nothing. Whether or not a player "kicks the shit outtta someone" or not doesn't prove or disprove that the Hawks care any more or any less about Ben Smith. I've always seen that as ridiculous. It's not going to stop dirty hits from taking place, because fights get started over CLEAN hits, which is just as ridiculous and it doesn't stop those from happening either.

I see Seabrook trying to get away from Ericsson - who is a big guy - has him bear hugged, but 5'10 Darren Helm is "holding" (and I use that loosely) back 6'4 Bickell - who still had his gloves on, and possibly holding his stick still, dont want to lose that and have to go find it later I guess.
