And I'm not sure which Hammer you've watched most of this year but, He's not been good. Softmore slump maybe, who knows.

I would like whatever it is you've been smoking.

Maybe we should wait and see before jumping the gun Eh?

Seabrook is worth every penny they give him. How he becomes the odd man out is a little fucked if you ask me. I'd rather lose Hammer and Keep Seabrook in a heart beat.

Not to mention they'll probably move Campbell in the off season.

Who said he's the odd man out!? $6M for a defensive dman, who is too slow of foot and in his decision making to QB the PP is too much IMO. But hey, that doesn't stop Q from forcing it anyway while a guy who was born to QB the #1 unit doesn't get a sniff. 1/3 of the Cap now tied up in 4 D men, $43.773M teid up in 9 players for next year. My dislike of this deal has zero to do with the player, just like Campbell's. Speaking of which if by some miracle Campbell is moved (Sather does still have a job) I'll run naked onto the ice and drag by balls across the blueline.

Brouwer needs to be re-signed and Sharp is entering into the last year of his deal, they'll have earned every penny coming to them as well. Bowman was elevated for his alledged Cam wizadry, I'm still waiting.

As for Hammer playing like shit, news flash: the entire D has played like shit most of the year, Seabrook included.

Must be doing something right they are the #2 PP in the league. Must be an accident.

Take Campbell out of your entire D playing like this. His +/- say other wise.

And your dislike for a deal that hasn't even happened yet is pretty comical. I'll call it a "news flash"...

I'm sturggling to remember when the PP scored the tying or GWing goal, stats be damned. We know they're on fire when presented with a 5 on 3.

You're right, Campbell has been the best D but you say he's going to get traded, brilliant!

As far as it not happening yet the GM is flapping his gums to the beat writers, "Everything starts with degfence for this team, hence all the money".

Yea but remember Campbell NEVER plays against the other teams top line. Seabrook, Keith, Leddy and Hjarlmarsson do.

They have to shed that contract. Leddy will be just as good as Campbell here shortly. Yet you don't havy any d man to replace Seabrooks experience or physicality in the system.

Campbell due to contract would be the most logical move. Brilliance has nothing to fucking do with it.

The GM has yet to prove himself. So far in the off season he did a pretty good job considering the SC position he was in.

And actually they have been better 5 on 3 as well. I think closing two of their last few with goals. PP is not a problem what so ever for this team. Stats on the PP and PK are pretty self explanitory. One of the few areas stats speak volumes IMO.

I would have prefered 6 years 30 mil for Seabrook, but we'll see what it is when it is.

Campbell isn't going anywhere... Nobody is going to take on the rest of that contract. Nobody. Not without sending a bad contract back our way. Don't be ridiculous. If these rumors are true, we just overpaid for yet ANOTHER RFA. Good job Dale.. I mean...Stan. Obviously we don't have the negotiating power we think we have here in Chicago. Obviously it's still not a town people are dying to stay and play hockey in. I shudder to think of what kind of money Sharp is going to get next offseason.

Yah interested in seeing what the actual figures are as far as it being front loades or not.

For those of you who don't think Seabrook is an elite blueliner in this league I really don't know what you are smoking. Not only does he have a Stanley Cup ring on his finger (and frankly this team doesn't win the cup without him) he also seemed to have been thought highly enough to make a very prestigious Team Canada who won the Olympic gold. How many blueliners make the Canadian National team? Hmmmmmm seems to me Seabs is highly respected around the league, wouldn't you say so?

This contract is about right for Seabs abilities and his young success thus far. You don't let players like Seabs go because you don't want to spend a little bit more to secure him.

And he is still ooohhhh so young. This being only his 6th NHL season. And frankly his career numbers to this point are pretty solid ones for a guy many would call a rounded blueliner. Does he dazzle on the offensive end? No but he does produce at a decent rate. Does he dazzle on the defensive end of the game? He certainly has many times. Seabs is versatile and hes a leader. He is a rare breed of NHL blueliner. I think his piers would agree to this.

To me this is a great day for the Hawks organization. Seabs didn't deserve to be excluded from fair value because guys like Huet are playing in Europe and Campbell has a heavier contract than deserved. I believe this is fair value for both sides. Anyone think Seabs and all his tangeables would have been easily replaceable? I certainly don't.

Ya'll worry to much.

First of all...TCD is a fucking tool.

Second...the contract? Glad it got done. I'd rather it had been around 5...but under 6 is of value. Good job by Stan and the Organization to keep him here for the nxt 5...he and them have both earned this contract. Very fair on both ends.

Meh, good to have him locked up, but the deal itself doesn't get more than a "C" from me.

Thing is, as we realize, his reputation speaks for itself. Top D-men in the league get $7.5 M or around it, so we definitely got a hometown discount from him, that's for sure.

Discount? LOL! Seabs got fair market value.
