The "heart" of Hossa's contract is 8yrs-59.3mil ...Richards just got 9yrs-60mil

(Before the contract)

Hossa - 775gms - 339g - 380a - 719pts - +112

Richards - 772gms - 220g - 496a - 716pts - -72

Eric Staal signed a 7yr-57.5mil deal (8.25per) just before 2008

Dany Heatly has a 6yr-45mil deal prior to the 2007 season

Hossa's cap hit is 2mil+ less than these guys, and he's just as productive.

Well for some it is. You do realize Kane, Toews, Seabrook, Keith, Hossa all could have gotten more money elsewhere, right?

Incorrect. Kane and Toews are the face of the team here - it is not a lock that they would go somewhere else and be instantly the face of that new team. Bottom line - they have very lucrative endorsement deals in Chicago and will have so for the rest of their careers here. Toews especially I can see as a future ambassador someday continuing to make money here. Endorsements are huge and cannot be overlooked strictly by NHL salary. In addition, both Keith and Seabrook have had endorsements as well - not as many as Kane and Toews but endorsements nonetheless. As for Hossa - he got a lifetime contract and then some. Never underestimate the almighty dollar - it drives everything.

You have absolutely NO CLUE what you are talking about. Un like your opinion I'm actually friends with both JT and Kane. Talk to them all the time. They most certainly could have gotten more money elsewhere and KNEW IT!

You have no fucking clue what you are talking about. None.

Hossa could have gotten 7 mil PER YEAR instead of the 5 he's getting now.

And Keith and Seabrook have no endorsements like Baur that JT and Kane have.

Sorry but you are wrong. This is one of those times I have to hand you your ass. You are looking at NHL salaries and completely overlooking endorsement deals. You think Toews or Kane could go to the Capitals for instance and be 'the man' there with the same endorsements? Or another team? They have built themselves solid reputations in Chicago and even thye know that. The fans love and adore them. The team is marketed around them. They will both be ambassadors someday raking in even more dough, not to mention appearances and other signings. Their 'brand' is in Chicago. You don't just pick that up and move it to another city and think there is no impact.

Keith and Seabrook both got very good deals - it's not like other teams were offering double for their services. The Hawks offer was competitive and again, they have endorsements here in Chicago as well. Not as lucrative as JT and Kane but still deals outside the NHL.

Hossa might have gotten 7M per but not for 12 years.

I'm not overlooking endorsements you fool. School me please?

You mean Baur would not give Pat the same endorsement if he played in Buffalo? Bullshit.

New Era, a BUFFALO COMPANY, would not give Pat the same endorsement if he played in Baffalo? Bullshit

Chevy, a company, GM, that reaches to Canada would not give Pat the same endorsement in Buffalo? Bullshit.

As for Jonathan the argument is similar. Especially the CANADIAN endorsements.

When you school me tool will be the day I stop going to the games.

And Keith and Seabrook have very few endorsements. I've know Brent since he was drafted. He took a 1-2 mil pay cut in staying. Period. You do realize Wiz just got 5.5 mil.

School me.. LOL! That goes along with your autograph post the other day. I suggest your ass walk down by me during a game as see who sits in my other two seats. Fool.

My guess is that Bauer is the main endorsement deal. They couldn't get that elsewhere?Bauer only endorses Blackhawks? Are there no Chevy dealers anywhere else either? I guess the Lemonhead one is huge!! My guess is is just pocket change to them. The group is very marketable. Especially Kane and Toews. That would carry over to anywhere they went.

Fluff would know, since he's all blackhawks that the OWNER of Lemon head has the Alumni meetings at his REST, downtown. He would also know he's a huge sponser of the Hawks, not Pat and Jonathan.

At some point Jonathan and Kane might just want to play in their home town. Just like winning the Cup or any prize, the dream is also to do it in your own town.

Where Kane is concerned the Rumor was that the Sabres were for Sale. If Kane was NOT signed they were going to make a HUGE offersheet to him, to increase the VALUE of the franchise and thus make it hard for the Hawks to match.

Most of the "CORE" took some type of pay cut to stay. All would have made MORE SALARY, with the SAME or similar endorsements, elsewhere.

And JT just started with Bauer last year. Kane, on the other had started just before his rookie year. Before that he was using RBK. How do I know this, I have his rookie RBK helmet hanging on my wall.

And Frameworth, who all four do stuff with is a fucking CANADIAN COMPANY. THey could care less where players play!

Who gives a shit who sits in your seats. I'm all over the damn place cause I'm using tickets I didn't sell or swapped for. You do not understand 'branding' and what these guys have achieved in Chicago. You don't just port that to some other city and set up shop.

you are an idiot. I just schooled you. I pointed out the SPECIFIC endorsments. At least 90% of them. And if you saw who sits in my seats you'd know just what a dumb **** post you made the other day about me just "hanging" out. You fluff/Wiz, are just an idiot. Sorry.

I suggest you check out what a Hockey town Buffalo is. Before you go off on "branding". LOL!

So you are a ticket broker? Jesus Christ. Thanks for screwing over the true fans. I am almost wishing the Hawks would start sucking again so you have to find a real job! McDonald's is hiring!

Let me hand you your ass a second time today. I did not say you were 'hanging out' to personally get an autograph. Go back and pull up the thread. I said you gave advice to another poster to hang outside the KO all night and wait for Cheli to come out. And you thought that was 'insider knowledge'. I contend the other poster could have figured it out himself. Where do you think alumni go? I'll tell you - 3 places - press box, KO, or Hawks suite.

You're a little late to the meeting on that one. The board knew last summer I was a ticketbroker. My name on the O-boards is 'I-Miss-Wiz' and I've discussed brokering at length there over the years. No secret. I would be more than willing to host a thread on ticket brokering if you want to discuss it but you'd have to get Ton to okay it first. It's not against the rules or guidelines (I actually read them) but Ton didn't seem to like my brokering advice last year so I haven't brought it up since.

Oh Fluffy, if you only knew. Sad thing is...it's not some big secret who sits in those seats. It is also very real and provides certain people with quite a bit of information that the average fan (you and I included) don't have access to.

Incorrect again. I took that fan, Zep to an area you, he, and any normal fan had no access too. Again fluff you are a dumb ****. Period.

How you made it through life without getting the complete shit kicked out of you is a miracle.

RK...the student does not teach the Professor. You failed and have to retake the class.

It doesn't matter that Toews and Kane were in the top 4 in jersey sales. No way toews would be this popular...if he played in....lets say Toronto. Or even MTL. Being completely bi-lingual would NOT help his marketing cause north of the border, or anywhere else. Not may people outside of CHI know who Kane is and he clearly stayed here for his local marketing.

Penguins’ Crosby tops 2010-11 jersey sales

The Sports Xchange

Jun 21, 1:45 pm EDT

Despite missing half of the 2010-11 season with a concussion, Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby led the NHL in jersey sales during the regular-season.

The league superstar has topped the jersey sales since '05-06, his rookie year. Capitals left-wing Alex Ovechkin ranks second.

Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews and right-wing Patrick Kane ranked ranked third and fourth, respectively, capitalizing on the team's Stanley Cup championship last June.

Boston Bruins left-wing Milan Lucic, a member of the 2010-11 champions, ranked 14th.

My personal favorite is the email Wiz sent you after blowing up Seabrook.

I still read it every so often to just chuckle.

I keep forgetting how many people Wiz emails... even to a guy who has the handle I miss Wis....

Alright... time to right the ship.

If some one wants to start a thread about not knowing the players, do so. If it happens to be in any relevant hockey areas-- some one's gonna win the under.

Let's keep this thread on the subject at hand.

NHTA is a nice place to derail threads.
