Although I like M. Williams over Shemar Stewart, I still go back to the idea that the Bears have an offensive HC and have invested heavily into Dayo and Sweat. The #10 pick would be going to a player that will in all likelihood be getting a lot less reps than a typical #10 pick. The Bears also already have Austin Booker whom they gave up an extra draft pick to acquire. He showed a lot of promise last year and does fit the height and length prototype of a player Dennis Allen will use @ 6'4" and 33 and 7/8" arms.

He has had a full year to put on at least 20lbs to the 240 he was drafted at. I don't see them giving up on him as a developmental player. So taking a DE at #10 is always an option but I wouldn't bet on it being the first pick of Ben Johnson's coaching career.
Dayo got paid but the reality is to this point he has not proven to be a consistent pass rusher that generates pressure at a high rate. Jarrett might not even play out his 3 year contract, and its possible that Dayo doesn't play out his contract either. Billings is basically forced to play the entire game because of lack of depth (previously).

Are sweat and Dayo supposed to play 90% of the snaps with only Booker coming in to give them rest? The big boys need to stay fresh.

On passing downs Dayo can kick inside as well if there is another player that would be worth putting on the edge to rush the passer.

This team needs help stopping the run more than pass rusher at this point. NT is the biggest need on the DL at this time imo, and there are none worthy of the #10 pick. Players like Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon, or Tyliek Williams could all be available at #39 or #41 on the other hand. I also think Dennis Allen will move both Sweat & Dayo inside at different times.

DA likes to dial up blitzes and generate pressure in multiple ways. I don't think DE is a priority despite Dayo only having 3 sacks last year, he has had a season with 8 sacks as well which people conveniently ignore. The rookie DE's that fit the scheme M. Williams and Shemar Stewart, also didn't have many sacks in college. People are foaming at the mouth about DE when the ones that did have a lot of sacks don't even fit the Bears scheme.

One more DT in the rotation would be great. I don't really care if it's a big guy or penetrator if he can't be both. wouldn't take Dexter long to add a few if they wanted that. I liked the pick but never saw him as a 3-tech.

For the most part you are right, where we won't agree is with Grant.............He will be a first-round pick. That being said Williams does fit Allen's defense better. With how Johnson wants to build this team from the lines out, I still believe it will be a trench player at 10. We will see,

They need help in both but how can you seriously type that…. The bears have to be one of the worst teams at sacking the qb

I fully expect the bears to draft shemar Stewart at 10 and I hate it. If you want a pass rusher draft green or ezeiraku who will immediately be able to rush the passer well.

My expectation of what the Bears do is
10 - shemar Stewart
39 - Kaleb Johnson
41- Jonah savaiinaea
72 - Joshua farmer

I personally would prefer
10 - green/nolen
39 - Darius Alexander/jtt
41 - kaleb/Quinton
72 - Ratledge/miles frazier

Booker taking the next step would be an awesome development for him and the Bears

I would love to see it.

Never hear anyone talk about Nick Scourton on here much but he's got the perfect measurements for a Dennis Allen DE?!

He showed up at the combine and was only 6'2 and 3/8" and weighed 257 pounds. He claims he's dropped 30 pounds for working out but no 40yd dash is listed...

In reality, I have said that Warren is an OPTION at #10. I also like Mykel Williams, KBJ, & Memou. What I argue against are people that claim that TE is NOT an option or that Warren would be a horrible pick. I posted the mock draft selections from CBS and ESPN as evidence that I'm not the only person who thinks it would be a solid choice.
Who is KBJ? Kaleb Johnson?

Warren could be the next Kelce. Would you really pass on Kelce for a Taylor Decker?

You could say this about any TE in the draft considering Kelce was taken in the 3rd round. The Bears aren’t drafting Warren.

The Bears' biggest need is not TE.
One of the positions where you less frequently get the stud drafting high is TE.
Warren is far from a sure star in the NFL.

Hard, hard pass at #10.

Hell, I'd be only moderately happy to see him drafted at #39 or #41. This is definitely a position I'd rather pass on early.

Landing a Taylor decker would give the bears their best lt since John tait. And that was 20 years ago lol lol.

This is sad but true. But hey let’s draft a TE at #10 when the team already has an above average TE!
