It's too bad for Kobe Bryant that he didn't get mentally tough and started sharing the ball at the right times until his physical prime was already pretty much over. Jordan was always that kind of player from the second he came into the league.

Your stuff on Rodman is...weird. Don't give a damn about autographs man...Odom is considered one of the nicest people in the NBA, Artest is one of the most charitable. Jackson was responsible for them as much as he was for Rodman. And lol at it being Kobe's fault Artest was out of shape...really? You have to be kidding me...

That last sentence was something else you just pulled out of thin air. Jordan was considered a selfish player initially. Phil Jackson had to convince him to trust his teammates enough to pass them the ball. And frankly, I don't blame him for being selfish in his early days...who passes the ball to Jawan Oldham and wants to win?

And Kobe has 5 titles and 2 Playoff MVPs...but yeah, he wasn't a good team player...alright then.

Putting words in my mouth. He was never as good of a team player as Jordan, and he didn't win those last 2 titles until after he decided to become more of a facilitator.

his number of assists per game hasnt changed much....the last 2 titles had more to do with having gasol to carry some of the load than anything else

Amen...he got those last 3 trips to the finals because he ended up with an allstar frontcourt. Something he didn't have after Shaq left. Who was he supposed to share the ball with before Pau got there?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Looks like Rose might have some serious competition next year in All-Star voting.

Wow this might actually be true...

Just imagine if he had been allowed to play just a few weeks earlier...xD

Sorry, not gonna happen.

I didn't say kobe was basketball stupid. I said he had a low basketball IQ in comparison to Jordan. Which is true. It's even true in comparison to lebron james.

Just because you don't agree doesn't make me wrong.

And you can't debate or discuss things without hurling insults, so who's the real moron?

You said and I quote...

"Kobe was just never a smart basketball player."

That was not a relative statement, it stood on its own. You have done this before during discussions, suddenly changed the context of your statement after being told how stupid the statement sounded.

The above quote is absolute asininity at its finest. Now if you are going to say something like this, giving your half-assed analysis on ballplayers in the NBA, own up to it...

And you know, I was wrong about the intent of this thread, this thread was not about basking Lebron, it was about bashing certain posters on this site who have a high opinion of Lebron James' abilities on the court.

This is true. Just because he can score a lot of points, doesn't make him an overall smart basketball player. The game is more than scoring the ball. It's making the right play, at the right time. Kobe was never good at that for the most part. This is a man who will have guys wide open, and still hoist up a turn around, fade-away, 3-pointer with 3 hands in his face, because he refused to pass the ball. He takes more bad shots than anyone I've seen. I think I said that before also. You gonna tell me that that's smart basketball? Kobe thinks that he has to take every shot and sometimes, that's not the correct basketball play. The thing I give lebron is that he makes the correct play, even if he get crucified for it. His basketball IQ is higher than Kobe's and I don't see how anyone can dispute that. lebron has a PG's mentality which requires a high BBIQ.

Again, you say this like you're some sort of authority. You value your opinion way too much. You come off like a blowhard and a bully because you don't agree with someone. You hurl insults, even when none are being thrown at you. You don't respect anyone's opinion if they don't agree with you. I don't agree with the things you say, but I don't throw insults at you because of it.

And you know, I was wrong about the intent of this thread, this thread was not about basking Lebron, it was about bashing certain posters on this site who have a high opinion of Lebron James' abilities on the court.
And you're still wrong. It wasn't about bashing the people who have a high opinion of lebron james. It's about those people not letting the people who don't grovel at his feet, or worship at his throne having the ability to say something without being attacked for it.

This is BULLS forum, yet we have people dissing the Bulls players, defending other teams' players, not believing in this team, begging for other stars to come here. I'm calling that type of attitude out.

lebron does have a higher BBIQ than Kobe. That's fact.

interesting that you give credit to a player on a thread underscoring him...though that credit is false

BBIQ is one of the things that holds lebron back from probably having a couple of championships imo at this point

Yeah, maybe a higher BarBecueIQ!

The smartest thing Lebron can do on the court is giving Wade the ball, when the game is on the line!

Lebron doesn´t even have the highest basketball IQ on his team!

Exactly! Lebron is by far the most talented player in the NBA! But talent is not enough! You have to use it smart and he doesn´t do it!

I'm not bashing lebron at all. Just stating that you can't have a not so glowing opinion of him without being bashed for it by the lbj defense force. That doesn't preclude me from thinking that he has a higher basketball IQ than Kobe Bryant.

Actually, it isn't. He care too much what the media thinks of him and lets bullshit get in his head and derail his game. If he can learn to tune out the criticism or take on a more MJ like "Oh yeah? Watch this!" type of attitude, his recent 4th quarter shortcomings will eventually go away. He has to stop being passive late in the game. By that I mean he has to stop shying away and deferring at the wrong times.

If he has the ball at the top of the key and it's late in the game, he can have the defense at his mercy. He sees the floor the way a PG sees it and he knows what needs to be done. He knows the correct play is to drive, draw the D in and kick it to an open shooter. He can make that play in his sleep. But those late game situations recently have resulted in him just passing the ball and running to the 3-point line off the ball. Which is not the correct play.

I think he does that because he listens to the criticism of Skip Bayless, Screamin' A. Smith, Tim Legler, etc. and let's it get to him. Now when he's attacking and playing his game, there's not much you can do to stop him. Really.

Now, Kobe in the same situation wouldn't give a shit about the media or his teammates and just dribble around and dribble right into a bad and highly contested shot with teammates open.

That's the difference, to me at least.

BBIQ

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMfQaGP8Urg]LeBron James Misses the Game-Tying Shot - 2/27 - YouTube[/ame]

You know who is a better 3point shooter than Lebron? Wade, who has been wide open in the left corner! (Actually that play was designed for Wade!)

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb3tQ2k6sXc]LeBron misses game tying shot - Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls (03-06-2011) - YouTube[/ame]

Look how the wide open Mario Chalmers in the left corner gets the ball.....ups, he doesn´t! Instead he tries to make a layup over a center!

By the way, the Bulls won a game with the same play because Rose was smart enough to pass that ball!

Don´t get me wrong, he is a hell of a player, but he is not that smart as you make him!
