My sister in the SA burbs never lost power luckily. Says her furnace has struggled to keep up, and she realized how poorly her 2016 house is constructed (just moved there this summer). I guess that's Texas laissez-faire standards for you.
Pretty much any house build this century in a Texas suburb is shit.

So in New Mexico we got the Texas weather for four days of snow and such... Wasn't as cold and we didn't have the power/water issues.... but today... It was 65 degrees and windy AF. Winter gave way to the spring winds we all love so much.

Fired up the John Deere this weekend and mowed. Followed by several deck beers and weed. Summer is on the way.

I am sharpening the blades this week, pulling the tire chains, removing the thrower and slapping on the deck.
Really looking forward to my first mowing.

Just this past week I had random Crocus pop up all over. the time draws near.....

I am very jealous that you had enough to mow already.

That is key to good family relations.

I started a bunch of stuff mid- March and it's overgrowing its pots in my kitchen now. I'd love to get it into my garden outside, but I ain't trusting the weather by any means yet. Last year I didn't get stuff into the ground until Memorial Day weekend.

Not thrilled about winter in April, but I'm taking it as a win because it's bought me some time to finish up some things in the bathroom before the tile guy comes....we are expanding our little 4 x 4 garden to 9' x 14' and the cold has kept mama from worrying too much about when I'll have it done.
