He's probably working on plate discipline this Winter. Last year was his rookie year.

That's fine but he's never been able to draw walks. Not even in the minors. I just don't think he'll be able to do it.

I'd rather have Colvin mainly because he's home grown.

I'd rather hold onto Fuku, then let all of his salary come off the books after next year. We are going to have a lot of money to spend next year with Ramirez, Silva and Fuku all coming off the books.

Then there's raises to all the arb-players again. And The Mariners are paying Silva. Anything the Cubs are paying him, the Mariners are paying Bradley then.

I never said he was a stud but he isn't a player that you trade away while eating 3/4 of his contract. Don't know why Cubs fans hate him so much.

I still dont see y they dont keep Fuku 1 more year and move Colvin to 1B...this saves the team money then if Colvin shows he can hit they can move him back to RF 2012 and go get big bat like A-Gone or Fielder in next year FA

Hoff is finally out of the Cubs system. He signs with Japan.

I think the Cubs should take a chance on Shawn Hill. I think Hill could be a good pick-up for the Cubs. He'll sign cheap and could be a low risk high reward kind of deal.

Well, all we are doing is predicting and projecting, so you can't prove much, but he'll be around a proven pitching coach, who has had proven success.

Larry Rothschild and Strikeouts | Community – FanGraphs Baseball

Larry Rothschild and Walks | June

:obama:

Correlation does not mean causation. Adjustments for player age and ballpark (they can influence strikeout and walk numbers, too), as well as a regression analysis on whatever leftover "unproven" changes (if there are any), so as to determine those changes aren't attributable to other things like luck are all needed before one can go and say things like "he'll be around a proven pitching coach who has had proven success." Those articles proved dick.

Here is the stats on HRs. According to these averages, Shields wouldn't even give up 1 more HR playing most of the time in Wrigley.

still waiting...

Zambrano has not asked for a trade and the Cubs have bot ask him to waive his NTC, according to his agent.

Also, Stark mentions the Cubs are still uncertain about 2nd next year. It was said the Cubs are fine going with DeWitt to start the 2011 season.
