Adjustments for player age and ballpark (they can influence strikeout and walk numbers, too), as well as a regression analysis on whatever leftover "unproven" changes (if there are any), so as to determine those changes aren't attributable to other things like luck are all needed before one can go and say things like "he'll be around a proven pitching coach who has had proven success."
