What did you mean about Z. Did you mean they had a trade ready and just have to ask him to waive it?

No. Levine talked to his agent (Z's) and the agent told Levine Z wants to stay in Chicago right now and the Cubs are not shopping him right now.

Vazquez on the Cubs would be awful.

Yeah, I think the Cubs should save the money on OK to below average pitchers, and bring up the youngsters who will do the same, if not better.

Just save money. Spend on Cuban defectors and Japanese imports.

The Cubs could lock up Carlos Marmol this Winter. What do you think a fair offer is and do you think that is the right move?

I say yes, and I say a reasonable offer is 3 or 4 years at 6-8M per.

Lock up him and Geo. And Marshall. Wait till Castro's first arbitration year to lock him up.

:obama:

Correlation does not mean causation. Adjustments for player age and ballpark (they can influence strikeout and walk numbers, too), as well as a regression analysis on whatever leftover "unproven" changes (if there are any), so as to determine those changes aren't attributable to other things like luck are all needed before one can go and say things like "he'll be around a proven pitching coach who has had proven success." Those articles proved dick.

still waiting...

Oh for god's sake, you don't need all these extra things to see that pitchers improve as they come to Wrigley... a hitter's park. It's that simple.

My apologies, Larry Rothschild and home runs | Articles
Vazquez on the Cubs would be awful.

Yeah, a guy who kills in the NL, would be awful in the NL.
