Dolphins can afford to do this with their 2022 1st because they have two 1st round picks in 2023 and they believe Tua is their guy. Nothing wrong with that.

Now that contract? Ooooo, chico. You can thank the Jaguars and that Christian Kirk contract for what's happening now with WR contracts.

I think if Poles/bears made this move, everyone here would be thrilled. But ONLY because he wound up elsewhere, it’s seen as a bad move for Miami.

No matter how full of shit you are (not you specially), you at least know this is true
There's definitely some truth to this. We've seen a lot of mental gymnastics here trying to defend Pace's trades and move ups in the draft.

You're right the NFC is weaker but the NFC did win the SB.
Both conferences have great teams, but AFC teams are stronger on paper overall. Doesn’t mean an NFC team can’t win the SB. I think an NFC will win it this years. Bears got this!

I am all for the two first round picks, but not the huge contract. Those first round picks will be in 22022 and 222022.
Do u think the world will be here by the time those years roll around?.......I mean that's pretty far out...lol....

You guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment if you think this team is anywhere close to competing for anything other than a top 15 pick lol. This is not a trade a team in rebuild mode makes. Unfortunately, Nagy pissed away Fields rookie season with his bullshit play calling, 2022 is do over.

4-6 wins again most likely.

Pretty sure the Bears didn't have the FIVE picks it took, not to mention you ding dongs want to start sending what little talent the Bears do have, OFF the team?

You have gone full r*tard.

My only point in this thread was just because two 1st rounders is the asking price doesn't mean that's what it ends up being. And it didn't end up being two firsts. I would not recommend the Bears give up what Miami just did.

You are a fucking Special person

Poles said he drafts best player available. So there’s more than a 50% chance the best player at any pick is someone other than a wr or Olineman.
Probably a 77.77777% chance........but that's just me saying.......lol

Wow. Just stunning. I can't believe Miami gave up that much. 5 draft picks, and then you pay him $120 over 4 years. Jaw-dropping.

The Chiefs were over a barrel with a guy that it became obvious they just couldn't pay without handcuffing the franchise for years, and then Miami gives them 5 draft picks on top of it (and they'll have three picks in the top 50 and five picks in the top 103 this year). On top of that, if he had played the one more year on his contract in KC, Miami could have signed him at this time next year, and the Chiefs get zero in return. Highway robbery. Now Veach has got to make those picks count and load this team up for the next 3-4 years.
They gave up all that and then paid him $30 million per year, in an offseason with a strong WR draft.

Are you going to get a Tyreek Hill in the draft? Unlikely. But for so much less $ it would still be the way to go.

I think it's more of how u want it done..not at u......it seems like you want to throw everything into getting "weapons" for Fields NOW with a "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" approach......Poles has plenty to do....... Patience & Tact...my fellow Bear Brother.
I honestly would be happy with any #1 type of receiver or a starting LT, unless poles thinks Jenkins is the guy which I don’t think he does

I mean, Fenton/Sneed/Thornhill are all starting in the secondary, Humphrey and Smith were outstanding on the o-line, Bolton and *** are going to anchor that linebacking corps for years, Edwards-Helaire is their starting RB, and Hardman has been a weapon on special teams and as a slot receiver with insane speed, but other than that, no one. ;)
And Creed Humphrey top 5 rated Center by PFF in his 1st year and Trey Smith better than average in his rookie year. Wish the Bears had such success drafting o-line last year.

I feel like giving up 2 1sts for a WR that you're then going to give a huge contract to isn't ideal. QB/LT/edge rusher maybe.

Even then, as great as Khalil Mack was, that deal was not ultimately worth it. But Pace made 3 bigger mistakes before that trade. You all know what they are.

I mean, he made more mistakes than that. But you know what I mean. ?

Edit: 1st, 2nd, 4th in 2022, then a 4th and 6th in 2023. That's a lot of picks.

Imo u r providing my point.... .Poles & E bear flus aren't looking for ANY #1 WR ...There are looking the type that FITS THEIR SYSTEM. They've said that from the start........they r building their way.......let it unfold.

Isn’t it possible that Poles is a young first year GM, and he may be thinking he’s smarter than everyone else by not signing top tier talent and it could blow up in his face and ruin or set back Fields?

Kinda like when Emery thought he was outsmarting everyone with the McClellin pick and Pace with the Trubisky trade up and pick?

Maybe I’ve just been a bears fan too long to think our GM is smarter than every other GM

Nobody said Veach has gotten “no one”. So which part was wrong?

Are you saying his picks have been “great”?

Are you saying he doesn’t have to make the most of his picks?

Or are you saying he *is* as good a drafter as Dorsey was for the Chiefs?

If Veach uses the picks he got from the Dolphins to get the same type of guys he’s gotten the last 4 years, the Chiefs are gonna have some problems.

They play the Jets, Giants, Falcons, Texans and the Lions twice. 6 wins is a given I think.

Chiefs fan maybe? I like them but this hurts them.
Well of course I am and of course it does, in the WR corps anyway. But it will strengthen them everywhere else. They now have 25 million in cap room available and 3 picks in the Top 50 to take some of the sting away.
