Consider the source, but allegedly Watson is plan a, Wilson's plan b.

Dumb take. I'm not sure they win anything with wilson, probably, honestly, wouldnt due to the "depleted" roster as you mentioned.

Still, I'm tired of the same formula for this organization for decades now. If they throw away everything for Russ and it doesn't work at least it would be fun.

It's not dumb at all.

YOU were the one who said about Mitch, "No QB could win behind this line. Not even Tom Brady."

One of the biggest names in sports discussion, a guy who gets paid a fortune to do this thinks the Bears can trade 5 1st round picks. They could if the picks spanned 3 seasons but they don't.

Joy is fucking awful too.

Hmm, normally you need a franchise quarterback for that level of impact... Wonder where we could get one...

So Wilson goes from Seattle complaining about the oline...to Chicago and their 'solid oline' and stacked roster?

It won't be fun though. Really, we should know this by now. The Bears taking (and missing) big swings at quarterback is nothing new and every time it leads to more profound misery than the last desperate attempt. Sailing three years of Bears football into the sun for something different, just for the sake of something different, is awful.

I think keeping our draft picks gives us a brighter future a year or two from now.
We have no idea if that’s true or not. All we know is if we get a legit QB, that makes us more competitive for the future. There will still be plenty of draft picks and FA to build a roster with

I'm a minute into this segment and he says the Bears are going to give up 5 1st round picks, which isn't possible. Unless I'm mistaken, the max a team is allowed to give up is 3, is it not?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Actually this would be the time to give up first rounders. The Bears will have way more cap room next year and with the possibility of many good vets taking 1 year deals with the adjusted cap this year, Bears could be more of a FA team to add talent while they are missing the top part of their draft.

All teams will have more cap next year, correct?

If I looked correctly and going off of basic stats....The Seahawks OLine gave up 48 sacks and the Bears 36 sacks. They were pretty even with run blocking. Bears roster isn’t stacked but Wilson can be just as successful with what they have on offense. And the Bears defense is better than the Seahawks.

...Pace's history of giving away draft picks has been a disaster. Giving away two more firsts for Wilson will put us in Detroit Lions early 2000s territory.
Pace will still have enough 3rd-5th rounders to work with and we have seen the type of talent he can grab with those picks.

We have seen high profile FAs come to Chicago....and not be as good as they once were. You can count on that happening with Nagy.

Granted we've seen a lot of draft busts. But they don't cost as much.

We have never seen a high profile QB come to the Chicago. One who has already established himself as a top QB in the league. He’s not all of a sudden going to suck because of Nagy

Cutler was high profile.

Nagy will make Wilson worse.

But the trade probably won't happen anyway.

Some high expectations if this goes down. City might implode at anything less than a championship game appearance. Lots of pressure on the 1 year wonder Nagy and savior wiltson.
