Stalberg is probably one of the most valuable players in terms of trade value that the Blackhawks have.

Bolland + Stalberg + Leddy + Lalonde + Frolik for Nash+ someone?

Thing that hurts the Blackhawks is Nash has such a high cap hit while Stalberg has such a low one.

Really interesting...and just went through the Comments on HB of JJ and he said "My understanding is the Hawks were prepared to offer, or offered:

NHL players, AHL player, 1 top prospect

for

Nash
and another NHL player

I know the names, can't share. Better offer than L.A.'s, IMO "

The reported LA offers seems better. They have a goalie and defense. Columbus needs those. But then we don't know exactly what Chicago is throwing out there.

Could Crawford / Mason factor in?

Nice call on Crawford for Mason.

The only reason I think this inter-division trade is possible...

1. Nash is going to pretty much go where he wants with his NTC
2. CBJ is probably banking on being out of Chicago's division within the next couple of years.

I'm with you, I wouldn't trade Hossa for Nash.

Not enough difference to make up for that $2.5Mil+ of cap space that Nash has over Hossa.

Hossa is an absolute beast on the ice and he was in the MVP race until the Blackhawks hit this terrible slide.

Hossa vs Sharp is really tough.

Sharp's deal is 4 years shorter, but the cap hit is $625k more. I give that edge to Sharp.

Hossa is obviously better defensively and has been flat out incredible this year. He's a better player, but he's 2 years older with a lot of miles on his body already. Both kill penalties (an asset) and Sharp has the ability to shift to center if needed (though Q isn't utilizing that at all this year). Hossa makes everybody on his line better and not many are stronger on the puck. Sharp is pretty much the only pure scorer/sniper that the Hawks have.

Hossa is a better player, but I'm inclined to keep Sharp , all things considered.

I wonder who would have a higher trade value.

I think Nash gives all of us this excitement at first glance, but with the cap era plus what you have to give up it might not be good.

I think complimetary players are what we need at this point.....maybe not super stars but guys that are somewhere in the middle......or for example....much better than brendan morrison.

The next 2 games we could easily get our asses handed to us, which wouldnt be good for 2 reasons. 1) the standings (obviously) 2) that deadline is around the corner and teams know hawks will be in more of a panic mode to make a move or two.....I can see stan getting fleeced. This is a HUGE deadline for him.

Yeah, that 2.5 is nothing to sneeze at.

Frolik is at 2.3. Move him and replace him with a call up?

Even though we don't have the particulars of who Chicago would be giving up... Nash would most likely make the cap situation a bit more interesting/troublesome...

But then again we were just saying that Stan never spent the money saved by dumping Campbell...

Are the Hawks trying to win games 10-9 by adding Nash?

Other teams can't score if the puck is always in their net :elephant:

Sure. But unfortunately this isnt EA's NHL12. GMs arent stupid. Your not gonna get a team's best player for your assorted junk. Don't get me wrong, best to deal Stalberg now while he has some numbers, Bolland with his back history, wuss Bickell...BUT, if you're looking for Nash in return you can bet a core player like Kane or Sharp is going to have to be part of the package.
