  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Chicago State Cougars
  2. DePaul Blue Demons
  3. Illinois-Chicago Flames

So still nothing from d3a

Never will see it.

I will present my plan:
1. Sign Jorge Soler
2. Acquire Jacob Turner in a Matt Garza trade
3. Finish Spring Training Field
4. Build the Dominican Academy
5. Create a DSL Cubs3
6. Renovate Wrigley
7. Build a Venezuelan Academy
8. Create a VSL Cubs
9. Launch Cubs Network
10. Have Fire and Rush pay to get on new network too, with less coverage of course, better than their current terrible TV deals
11. Get $
12. Win

Yea lets take a prospect who being shut down for dead arm. Scouts said he lost velocitiy at end of year last year and now this ST he still down. But sure lets trade Cubs best SP and with most value to team for a prospect cause he has a big name. Talk about dumb

I posted in other threads of what i would have done past offseason.

The question has now shifted to what would we do next offseason. If your plan last offseason was just to buy Fielder and Edwin Jackson then we've already established why it's flawed.

SO your asking what i would do? if i were GM? Do i get a cap? lol

Not even the Yankees have infinite pocket change, so of course you have to operate under a budget. I've provided some resources for you above. Let's hear your wisdom.

Heres the problem.... We all know Cubs not going to spend on FA till they start bringing up some legit players from farm... I have no idea who going to take jump up this year for Cubs or who might fall flat on there face... So kind of tough to jump 8 months down the road

...so why are you complaining about the Cubs not spending money when you've already given a pretty good reason why they wouldn't or shouldn't?

2013 MLB Free Agents: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

FA list 2013

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tt7HjIernphaSrv4wMWdUYg&output=html

Cubs payroll for 2013: Which right now set for 34 mil BUT with some ARB guys so il add 30 mil which put them at 64 mil.. Now this where im different from you guys. I feel Cubs should be around the 150 mil mark payroll wise + be spending in AM DRAFT and IFA espicially since its capped...

C: Soto (i keep as of right now, again dont know how he do this year)
1B: Rizzo ( already gave up Cashner so not going to go out in FA, plus 1B FA bad)
2B: Aybar ( only 29, guy place really good DEF, good bat Say 3-4 yr 5-7 mil per)
3B: Stewart / Vitters ( there are no FA 3B, So we have to hope 1 of them pan out this year)
SS: Castro (enough said)
LF: Soriano ( not getting rid of that contract)
CF: Brett Jackson ( i think legit 25-25 guy, wish he be opening day this year)
RF: Andre Either (31 y/o Dude crushes RHP, gets on base, i think power go up at Wrigley, 4-5 yr 10 mil per) (hopefully they sign Soler then after this contract up Soler be ready)

SP1: Cain ( 28 y/o, I go nuts in this year FA SP market, 6-8 yrs 20 mil)
SP2: Hamels ( 29 y/o , 6-8 yrs 20 mil)
SP3: Garza ( 29 y/o , sign him to extension 5-6 yrs 13 mil)
SP4: Shark/Volstad
SP5: Wells/Wood

So with adding Aybar at 7 mil, Either 10 mil, Cain 20 mil, Hamels 20 mil, Garza i got in ARB but il add 3 mil for extension... I would be spending 60 mil.. With payroll around 64 mil + adding this 60 mil then i be around 124 without RP and Bench.... add that be around 140 mil

Then my lineup be:

Jackson CF .270 20 HR 25 SB
Aybar 2B .290 7 HR 20 SB
Castro SS .300 20 HR 25 SB
Either RF .290 25 HR
Sori LF .250 30 HR
Rizzo 1B .270 30 HR
Soto C . 250 20 HR
Stewart / Vitters 3B .240 15 HR

The top 3 SP would match any team in baseball. 4-5 we find out more this year.. Lineup we also will find out more this year.

Again thats 8 months down the line. Alot can change.

Then after 2014 Sori contract is gone. The farm should be getting better. Then we fill up the holes that dont pan out with Farm

1 your nuts for giving 20 mil a year to Cain and Hamels each. No team is that nuts.
2 what if they get resigned to there original teams? Then what

If they were going to resign they would have done it by now. If your player would you sign under value contract now when you could hit FA and let 30 teams bid?

How much you think Cain and Hamels get? i have read they think 18 mil + so i put 20..if u think they get less then that means i spent less money :)

Now nothing from Rice Cube or other guys who been harrassing me? What this actually makes sense? Im not saying go spend money on bad ballplayers. I would only spend money on guys that help NOW and be good for next 4-6 years while Theo and brass building up the farm.

Actually, there was no response because neither Rice nor FT, nor me, were online.

That plan has a lot of flaws and you are expecting too much too soon from Castro, Rizzo, and Jackson. Castro's not hitting 20, Rizzo not 30, and Jackson not 25 just yet.

Aybar could hit FA, that works.
Not getting Ethier.
No way we get Cain and Hamels, most likely we wouldn't be able to get either.

You seem to assume that players want to go to the Cubs and that no other teams will offer and insane contract.

In other words, when THEO doesn't sign these 4 guys, don't complain about #RickettsCheap again.
