Funny how none of the ones saying you can't judge Caleb yet, were quick to call Bryce Young a bust in his first year.
What top 5 rookie Qb has had the amount of talent assembled around him in his first year that Caleb does?
Bryce is still a bust.

And the Caleb is still surrounded by inept incompetent stupidity

They could have come up on a huge haul of picks and ended up with an equivalent QB or great talent as well. It’s so weird too because that’s exactly what they did last year.

I don’t know about you but “is he Jayden, no, but he’s still pretty good” is middle of the first round or lower talk
LOL at the JF apologists jumping at every opportunity. What we know is that Fields was likely not going to take a team to championship once facing playoff Ds. I wish him well and hope he helps a team get there at some point.

We won't know if CW is generational or a bust for at least a good chunk of next year and maybe some of year 3. Did you know that Andrew Luck had a 75 rating and 18 INTs in his rookie year? That Mahomes didn't play a meaningful game in his rookie year for a reason?

Is Daniels currently better? Yes. Does it matter long term? Maybe, maybe not. Also, if you thought Daniels was that guy, you're still not trading the 1st pick and just taking him... the same way Carolina would be thrilled to have picked Stroud. You guys are jumping through hoops trying to rationalize reasons to having kept JF. Smarter than every GM that needed a starting QB.

Will you rise to the occasion and post if the opposite happens?
I sure will. I wanted Fields in his draft and supported him for 2 full years... until he stalled.

Just eliminated the Cards. That team is balling right now even though they haven't been winning, they've been in every game since Bryce came back.

Carolina is playing very good, almost beating some of the top 5 teams in the last month. Bears may have destroyed the Panthers early on, but not now. These are two teams going in the opposite direction over the last month.

And Bryce is playing very well, with no name weapons. This whole thing is unfolding kind of embarrassing actually.

Daniels was the superior player in 2023 and Maye had been seen as 1b for a hot minute.

Not bringing either in for a top 30 visit is inexcusable GMing. The Jags (the fucking Jags) took in TL, Fields and Wilson all in for top 30 visits. You simply put can't not look at the other dudes, this wasn't this kind of draft to overlook Maye and Daniels.
If Poles had traded out and WSH had the 1 pick, I doubt very much they would have had either Daniels or Maye in for a visit. Caleb would’ve been the pick. I guess there is a small chance a prospect can die before the draft, but why bring in other QBs in for a visit when you’re picking first and youve met with the guy you want and are comfortable drafting him?

Also why you don't decide what you have at QB in year one. I was going to say unless it's obvious but it rarely is as it's gone both ways thereafter.

You have to give Young the same shitty team and coaching carousel considerations as other 1st year QBs in that year. He still has a chance to have a career but it's not looking great.
Exactly. He still looks like a career backup QB

Caleb has his flaws, as do Daniels and Maye. But in some sort of strange occurrence for us Bears fans, the offense has looked better than the D since Flus got canned. They are probably the worst unit in football as of late. I legitimately feel any 3rd and 15 plus is close to automatic for the opposing team.

Those who bring wins and losses up-it’s a team game. Hard to get the win when the other team punts one time during the damn game.

People seem obsessed with Stroud's fall off but he's been without two of his weapons for pretty much every one of his games - he only has Nico Collins now and they're still figuring it out well enough to go to the playoffs.

No, actually both the offense and defense has fallen apart since the Flus dismissal. Offense is 30% worse, the defense is 70% worse.

2024 with Flus offense 20.1 points per game

2024 without Flus offense 14 points per game

2024 with Flus defense 20 points per game

2024 without Flus defense 34 points per game

The scapegoat is gone.

Poles would have wasted those picks anyway a new coach and GM may be able to still fix this mess and actually come away with a decent draft including a starting o linemen 🤔
