True, but CO makes us dumber so that's not a positive.

I think the Jays will sign him, def if they can trade for Garzaq (I still think the Tigers are the favorite, though.)

They traded for Frasor to up their 'pen.

There's 2 WC teams and if they do acquire Garza/sign Fielder, there's a good chance they will get the final spot.

Angels/Rangers or Jays.

I don't think they'll know that for sure until March unless Bud Selig gets his way. Doesn't hurt to try though, grab a few wins here or there and you've got the wild card anyway.

Here's the Tigers' depth chart...

Depth Chart | tigers.com: Team

Now this is totally not ideal, but since everyone's fantasizing, they could potentially move Miguel Cabrera to 3B (he's played there before...badly), stick Fielder at 1B/DH, and have him rotate around the 1B/DH spot with Victor Martinez.

Probably not realistic, but if the Tigers are going after Matt Garza, maybe they wouldn't have a problem with snagging extra offense. *shrug*

Why does it bother you?

Real easy.

I want to read normal shit about a player. I dont want to scroll through post after post of theoisms, fantasy land type comments about boras being had by theo, prince taking a pay cut to play in chicago. its like the fans pulling out their cocks a few years ago when they heard "go cubs go" being sang by jake peavy. It is just flat out annoying that some fans cannot be realistic. If you think he is coming....great! but dont sit here and post that the reasons he will come are the things i posted about. sound fair?

I've read this sentence three times and I still don't understand what you mean by it.

i will make it even easier for you and captain dumbass:

Tired of reading the following:
theoisms and how they are always used to describe how (insert theoism here) is going to get the best of boras. how he wants to play here and would take less to play here because its chicago. how theo is smarter than boras. pretty simple shit.

try.to.be.realistic.

I honestly was curious what you meant by that statement. But since your response was the standard insult CO and just restate the parts that was perfectly clear in the first post, I will assume that you have equal difficultly in deciphering what that odd sentence meant.

And I challenge you to find one statement that I've made that said Theo was smarter than Boras or that Fielder will take a discount to come here (this one in particular since I've been stating that Fielder was going to go to highest bidder for months now).

It just amazes me how much homers are in a teams fanbase. Saying Fielder might take a paycut to play in Chicago is one of the most homer comment I have ever read on this site.

There is absoutley no reason why Fielder would take a "paycut" to play in Chicago, he cares about two things: Money and Winning.

The reason why Fielder won't be re-signing with the Brewers is because of money, obviously. If Fielder would take a "paycut" then maybe it works, but we are talking about Boras and Fielder taking a 5/100-120 mil type of deal, which obviously is not going to happen.

I don't even really want Fielder to re-sign at the price it's going to take to get him. With how much of a small market team the Brewers are (probably more mid-market now) it would make no sense in paying Braun and Fielder a combined 35+ million per year. He's going to command and probably get a 5-6 year deal worth over 160 million. That's too much to pay a guy who has medicore defense, and weight issues. Would make much more sense for an AL team to sign him so they can DH him.

And players are MUCH more willing to come play in Milwaukee than they were five-six years ago. This has a lot to do with the fanbase support they have had over the last four years, and going to the playoffs two years out of the last four. When you get 3 M+ fans per year, and average about 35-36K per game, it makes it much more fun for players to play in that city. Plus, the weather is really nice during the summer.

So, I don't get why people are hating on Milwaukee.

But to think that he would take a paycut to a division rival, even though he still loves Milwaukee, and has a lot of friends on the team (Weeks, Gallardo, Hart, Braun etc) all the players he grew up with in the minors, and he has known Weeks since they were 12, is just plain Special person. He'll sign with either the Mariners, Jays, Rangers (if they don't sign Yu) or the Nationals. Obviously the Cubs are in the race if they offer the most money, but I doubt Theo would give Boras what he wants.

who is saying this now?

Tom Haudricourt the Brewers beatwriter. He is usually never right, so meh. He hasn't broken one Brewers story over the last two years. Some blogger no one has ever heard of broke the Greinke story, Cubs blogger broke the A-Ram signing with the Brewers, Rosenthal/Olney broke the Marcum trade etc.

Beatwriter's seem to be out of the loop. Cubs media outlets have done shit this off-season.

Yoennis Cespedes would be the next "big" free agent. So that would be my guess, though he could sign prior to Fielder since he ought to sign quickly after he becomes eligible. Edwin Jackson?

OMFG wtf are you even talking about? really?

This whole back and forth started over one sentence at the end of your post. Your "answer" was to restate everything you had said that was perfectly clear. Then when I stated this your response was that I answered your question. All I wanted to know was what on earth this sentence means:
but dont sit here and post that the reasons he will come are the things i posted about.

Except that we're in a win-win situation. We get Fielder or we get Rizzo or some other 1B prospect of the like. Either way, we win.I'd honestly like Rizzo a little more. He can put up Howard numbers with a plus glove at 1B. If we don't sign Fielder, then we get the young guy. If we do sign Fielder, great. It's really not as big of a deal as you want it to be for us.
