Blue Jays DFA'd Cub killer Paul Dejong after three weeks.

He went 3 for 44 in Toronto with 18Ks and 0 BBs.

I can't believe I am even suggesting picking him up, but he'd be a better option than Wisdom.

Ahhh, more Cub weirdness. Just tuned in to see that a guy that's 3-13 with an ERA over 6 has just morphed into Greg Maddux at Wrigley.

At the time of the trade deadline, the talk was that the Cubs had a better shot at the division title than the wildcard. And it actually may still be true. But as of today they are closer to the first wild card than they are to first place in the central.

But they are also behind two teams and there are a lot of teams right behind as you said.

It's a cliche, but David Ross is the master of closing the barn door after the horse is gone.

Jed should shoot that horse(Wisdom). Problem solved.

Palencia looked great for five seconds. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Way too close for comfort, but got the outcome we needed.
Palencia fooled me on that final out. I thought he dropped his arms as though he had given up a home run.

Remember Bryce Harper’s father grooving him balls during the home run derby? Throwing in pitch after pitch that just got knocked out of the park (as designed)?

Drew Smyly is making Mr. Harper look like Sandy Koufax.

After the three run homer, which means he’s allowed seven runs by the fourth inning, Ross decided to leave Smyly in just a little longer so we could increase the damage

Smyly got touched up too quick. Not much you can do.

Can't win em all!

You can put him back in the pen where he was effective though.
