I like pretty much every variety of Sam Adams. Same with Goose Island.

My buddy and I have been buying Magic Hat #9 quite a bit lately. I like it quite a bit. It's pretty sweet, but good. Easy to drink a lot of them, except on the wallet.

Most of my favorites are from micro-brews we have in the area here.

Bent River makes some good beers, as does Great River Brewery. I'm a fan of the Pale Ale offerings from both.

In fact, pale ale in general is one of my favorite styles. Although, I've found many beers labeled as pale ale to be quite different. I do like most I've tried, though.

I am a fan of the micro-brews too. One of my favorites which has grown alot over the past two years is Two Brothers Brewery, located in Warrenville, IL. They make some damn good beers.

I'm pretty sure I've tried one of their beers. Domaine Dupage, IIRC. Pretty sure I liked it.

I'm probably in the extreme minority, but I like Old Style.

Bent River's beer is "meh" IMO. The UnCommon Stout is vastly overrated but Mississippi Bonde is solid enough. It doesn't help that they never seemingly clean their lines, and the service their sucks...plus I hate despise the hippie crowdy that hangs there.

Great River is amazing beer. The Roller Dam Red is damn good. Their seasonal Pumpkin Ale is nice, the Farmer Brown is awesome. Right now, head over there and pick up some of the Abbey Ale. Had two last Saturday night....Holy shit great stuff.

Galena IL has a new brewing company and literally every beer they do there is on fucking point. If you are ever up there...stop in. Do a beer flight. You won't be disappointed.

Any home-brewers here? I stopped brewing a few years ago, but I'm tempted to make a few batches.

I'm getting a kit for Christmas from my mother in law.

I'll be learning from my wife's best friend's dad. He actually home brewed a couple barrels of oatmeal brown stout for our wedding reception as his gift to us.

Fan. Fucking. Tastic.

I have two friends who home-brew. He just moved into a new house so he's going to set up a nice operation.
