When I went to Colorado(Denver and surrounding areas) I went to New Belgium Brewing. Great stuff. I also went to Celestial Seasonings(Herbal Tea/Infusion) main facility. Great stuff. I am very envious of how clean and good their water tastes in that area.

There's a brewery here in Rockford called Carlyle.. They have a delicious Vanilla Cream Ale.

Also, when I visited Montana about 4 years ago we went to Lang Creek Brewery. It was pretty damn good.

Bent River's beer is "meh" IMO. The UnCommon Stout is vastly overrated but Mississippi Bonde is solid enough. It doesn't help that they never seemingly clean their lines, and the service their sucks...plus I hate despise the hippie crowdy that hangs there.

Great River is amazing beer. The Roller Dam Red is damn good. Their seasonal Pumpkin Ale is nice, the Farmer Brown is awesome. Right now, head over there and pick up some of the Abbey Ale. Had two last Saturday night....Holy shit great stuff.

Galena IL has a new brewing company and literally every beer they do there is on fucking point. If you are ever up there...stop in. Do a beer flight. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, the service and crowd can sometimes be shitty, but I don't often go. I've gone a couple times on Tuesdays when they have their $2.50 burger baskets, so it's nice for some cheap grub. I only really drink the Dry hopped pale ale, pale ale or American Wheat. The blonde beers are OK I guess, and I don't care for the stouts.

-New Glarus anything (Easily one of the best if not the best brewery in America! Spotted Cow, Fat Squirrel, Moon Man Pale Ale, countless awesome dark beers, great fruity beers to)
-Founders Breakfast stout (double chocolate oatmeal stout..mMMMmMmMm)
-Hacker pschorr oktoberfest
-Stella Artois
-Warsteiner Premium Verum or Dunkel
-Anything from the Potosi Brewery
-Gouden Carolus
-Three Philosophers
-Sam Adam Oktoberfest, Chocolate Bock, Holiday Porter, Coffee Stout. Sam Adams gets way to much love in this thread imo. They have some great beers, and some equally shitty beers that make me wonder what they were thinking. Their Boston Lager is sooo Overrated.
-Alaskan Beer, Amber, White, and Winter are all Phenomenal. Anyone who has mentioned a love of Fat Tire Amber Ale NEEDS to try Alaskan Amber if its available in your area.
-Guinness Black Lager
-Rogue Dead Guy ale
-New Belgium Tripel, Abbey Ale, Organic wit. Fat Tire

I'm sure of forgetting plenty of good ones but I don't wanna bust out my notebook with all my beer ratings. 375+ beers tasted and counting!

The Starr Hill Jomo Lager is quite possibly the best beer I've ever had. Had it at a friend's wedding in Charlottesville, VA (he lives out there now) and have been begging him to send me some as a Christmas/birthday present ever since. I've tried looking at Sam's Wine & Spirits and Binny's, but they don't carry it.

I've had quite a few good beers lately. Seems like every time I go to my buddy's house we grab some microbrews from hy vee. Some good ones include...

Left Hand: Stranger Pale Ale, Milk Stout

Stone: Ruination IPA, Pale Ale, Levitation Ale

Founders: Pale Ale

Smuttynose: Shoals Pale Ale, Brown Dog Ale, IPA

I'm a big fan of pale ales, in general I like them the best

I just had it tonight, actually. From a sampler 12 pack. It's pretty good overall. Pretty light with a nice citrus flavor. Would be good on a hot day.

I'm in college. I drink Keystone aka water.

when I do get to drink something "quality", I like Dos Equis. Seriously. I sat & drank 9 of those with my uncles watching that Bears game on 2011 Christmas day.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread a bit. Craft/microbrews are too good to be forgotten.

Recently bought a variety 12 pack from Southern Tier. Had their pale ale, IPA, a pale wheat ale and another ale. All of them were decent, with the Pale ale being the best of the bunch, followed by the IPA.

Also recently had a couple of bombers of Stone Brewing's Arrogant Bastard Ale. Holy shit, this is a great beer. Malty, hoppy, strong and delicious. Definitely worth checking out of you like ales.

In fact, Stone Brewing makes excellent beers across the board. I haven't tried a single one I haven't liked. They're a bit expensive, but worth it IMO.

I can barely bring myself to drink "American Adjunct Lagers" anymore. Afterwards I just feel disappointed, with the drunk feeling as the only consolation.

Did you ever end up trying the Abbey Ale from Great River Brewery?

Holy shit was it great.

Funny you should mention that, I was just telling my wife the other day I wanted to go check out their brewery and try a few beers. But no, I haven't made it over there yet. I did have their Roller Dam Red on tap at Wide Open last night, which was solid. Also tried Dark Horse IPA on tap at Refresh (the old QC Zone). As far as I can remember it was pretty solid, too.

I've had a couple offering from Bell's, and while good, they weren't anything remarkable. I haven't had the Hopslam, though. After reading about the brewery on Wikipedia, it seems that it was only a temporary thing and they now sell all varieties in the state. It also seems it was due to a beer distributor, not the government.

While $17 for a 6 pack sucks, it's not ridiculous considering that's less per beer than drinking Bud or something at a bar. I buy bombers (usually Arrogant Bastard) from time to time, and they're usually ~$5 and up. That's for 22oz. Stone Brewing's Ruination IPA and Oaked Arrogant Bastard 6 packs are also about $18 for a sixer, which my buddy and I have split a few times.

If you like the hopslam, which from reading is a double/imperial IPA, you should try Stone Brewing's Ruination IPA. Hoppy as hell but damn good.

Tonight I was drinking Two Brothers The Bitter End Pale Ale. While pretty solid overall, it's not as hoppy/bitter as the name would imply. But that's fine because I like a little malty balance with my hoppy bitterness usually. Two Brothers Brewery is near Chicago if I'm not mistaken.

I hated Hopslam when I tried it but then again, I'm not as big into craft beer as a lot of you guys but my bro who's a beer snob thinks it's great. That stuff was taken off the shelves pretty quick everytime it makes it's way to SoFla
