I dont know that stat but I'd venture to bet its not a lot. Most nfl qb's do not throw 50+ times often.
Ok. Is throwing for 362 yards in your third NFL game nothing or something?

Not saying it’s the be-all/end-all (no one is). But is it something or nothing?

I think the "best situation ever for a 1st overall pick" narrative really warped people's minds for expectations. The Bears earned the 9th overall pick with their own record and quality of play.

That's the same position the Panthers were in when they traded up for Bryce, and apparently DJ Moore was the only thing keeping them from being the worst team in the league.
The issue there is:

  • Run game hasn’t worked… so the Swift piece hasn’t returned anything for helping a QB.
  • Allen has been hurt since week 1… played hobbled, and then has missed the next 2 games.
  • Rome as a weapon is also getting into it.
  • In fact, the whole offense is with all the moving parts.
Sometimes, it’s just nice to come in and you’re the only new piece. The Bears have a lot of moving parts. That’s why it should’ve always been expected to have a good chance of a rocky start. Admittedly, it’s a bit more rocky than I expected.

This was the worst play of the game, worse than any turnover by both teams(including that shitty ass pass by Arich).

The outside run has failed all year and waldron calls this shit on 4th and goal at the 1.....

Yeah, that was amazing sequence of goal to go playcalls. Every playcall seemed to be worse than the previous call. And the 1st and goal call was bad to begin with.

How many Bears QBs have thrown 50+ times in the last 15 years?

A lot.

How many Bears QBs have faced prevent defenses and garbage time in the last 15 years?

A lot.

How many have also had turnover issues?

A lot.

How many have had 360+ yards?

None.

No one is saying Williams has arrived or shouldn’t be better. But that’s not nothing.
Thing is CW didn’t face a prevent defense today.

As Kmet’s receiving skills improve, his blocking skills have fallen. Never thought I would type that.

Let’s slow our roll a little on 363 yards. 60 of that was from a Hail Mary tipped ball. So in reality Williams threw 52 times for about 300. Average is Justin Fields like.

The Fields cultists are really riled up after this one. There was obvious growth from Caleb showing his potential and they don't like it. They are using bad coaching and rookie mistakes in a guys 3rd start to sling mud at him. It's ridiculous and tiring.
That is absolute horseshit. I was and still am a big Justin guy but I can also recognize that CW has skills JF may never have.

No wonder this play didn't develop, Pryor didn't understand he was to fall to the ground on the play like the other 4 O-linemen. His lack of execution entirely "blew the play up."
Yep, it’s unfortunate we had to have a clueless backup out there

The fact of the matter is, Fields fans don’t want Williams to do well.

They would rather say “I told you so” than see a Bears QB succeed. Sad.

If this weren’t true, they wouldn’t pull out the hyper-pedantic critiques and constant comparing until Williams’ 3rd year in the league (Fields’ put-up-or-shut-up year).

They would be able to offer fair critiques of Williams’ game without bringing up another team’s fourth year QB or comparing a rookie’s stats to a 4th year’s QB’s stats after 50 games in the league.

It would be one thing if Fields fans wanted to have actual legitimate conversations, filled with intellectually honest assertions and nuance. I’m totally fine with a Fields fan who legitimately thinks Williams isn’t as good as Fields and has the assertions to back it up to a certain extent.

But that’s not what we’re seeing. Instead, we’re seeing overly-antagonistic, sarcastic, tiring one-offs with phrases like “I’m curious” and “seriously asking,” when they are actually anything but serious.

These are not intellectual heavyweights. They’re sad, miserable people.

lol no one thinks that. Name one person on this board that thinks that.

We were told it would be an instant improvement and it looks worse than ever.

Most passing yards by a QB this season.

More yards than Fields or Trubisky ever had

But in a league where passing is the most important thing, I’m sure it’s nothing.

No team has ever faced a prevent defense or been in garbage time before, right?
Yup. It’s shocking how dumb some of these replies are.

Again, that was for those that don’t realize it. If you do realize it, the comment isn’t for you
I never claimed you did say he was generational. All I said is that many posters did. To which, you asked whom and so I @ you on a list of some posts saying it
