Spray chart of every base hit Jason Heyward has had since being called up in 2010:
What? You have nailed what? You did not predict any of these signings and you def. said big name FA's don't want to come to Chicago.

I want to see the Cubs blow the roof off this offseason and trade for Chris Archer or Sonny Gray. Not sure how realistic that is, but they are already in talks with the Rays regarding Baez, the Cubs have a few high end prospects that are blocked for the next 8 years, so they should make use of their value and get Archer, who IMO has the best contract in baseball.
I'm not fully versed on this stuff but won't they get one back when Fowler signs somewhere?
True, but Cubs will also get a pick from Fowler walking so they will replace a pick in between rounds there
Baez swing is still way too complicated. Soler has better chance of success, imho. As soon as he starts putting a little more air under those LD, people will see. His swin is more simplified and he has a better eye at the plate...as of post-DL 2015 season.
I gave the cost of pitching, I was the only one right. I gave the cost of Fernandez and that it would start with Bryant. Given what is being asked, it looks like I underestimated the cost of Fernandez (the only one, wait, I think TC might have been in on it too). I did say Price did not want to be a Cub, that it was only an example during the season and I was right. I did say that no one is giving the Cubs a discount and unless it's proven that Heyward did, it would seem correct. And even if correct, I miss, what one guy? How can you say I haven't?
What did I just read? Price went to the highest bidder. Cubs didn't offer him the highest bid. Fernandez was going to cost someone half their team. Cost of pitching? Pitchers have signed for about what everyone was saying. Its being reported that Heyward took almost 20 million less to be a Cub. In fact, you said he would a 20% increase to come here. What are you even talking about?

Heyward deal less than $185m. Believed to be eight years.
Cubs basically give their #1 pick(#27) to the cards and if they don't re-sign Fowler that pick associated with him goes to the cards too. They then keep their #2 pick. If they do re-sign Folwer for whatever reason the cards get the cubs #2 pick.
Stop saying this, you don't give picks to teams any more, you simply get a compensatory pick.
Teams that sign free agents who turned down qualifying offers must then forfeit their first available pick in the next MLB draft. The forfeited picks don't go to other MLB teams; rather, the rounds just become condensed. The player's former team obtains one compensatory selection at the end of the first round, even if the team sacrificing a pick gave up a pick later than a first.

If true, that's what $23 million per for 8 or the 20% bump to play CF and he gets to be a FA sooner to cash in. Pretty neat.

See I'd go the other way. I think Baez has raised his floor and their ceilings are at least equal with Baez maybe a tick above, plus he can play any position but catch and pitch.
